Villaggio Palma - Delightful character accommodation typical of the region

4 of 5
Location suited out needs exactly as this is the first time our much travelled family has visited Sardinia and what an enjoyable experience it was, as it gave us the opportunity to travel around this area without going too far. I would suggest the villa is not within walking distance of the village if you are not very fit as it is on a main road and the heat in summer would not make it a pleasurable experience. The villa had lovely views and was in a quiet location off the main road into Baja. The extremely clean swimming pool was hardly used and my daughter had it all to herself several times. A beautiful beach a 2 minute drive is at Porto Solo with a WC and reasonably priced sun beds and refreshments and very helpful staff, mostly used by locals and extremely safe for me being a poor swimmer, also there were not too many "sellers" which invaded other beaches we tried. The owners are delightful and we were welcomed with wine and a fruit tart as we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our two "adult" daughters. Being British, there was no kettle with which to boil water for tea, but Mrs Milly the owner's representative, produced one the next day for our use. The accommodation was very clean and very well furnished with china, cutlery, and utensils. The beds we all agreed were some of the best we have slept in and the Air Con worked well in the bedrooms. Mrs Milly's boat Hot Wind was a great experience helped by a good mix of nationalities who all integrated well and a memorable day was had by all. The Agriturismo venue near San Panataleo was another great experience, but you do need to book. Just one point, taxis are a rareity and very expensive, so someone has to drive if you want to eat out in the evening and have a drink. One minor point, we would recommend sliding bolts be fitted to the bathroom doors. We will be returning to Sardinia for sure, probably just as a couple.

Happy holidays in Porto Rotondo!

5 of 5
I always have been too lazy to write any reviews but I just cannot do it this time - my stay at Luca's house in Porto Rotondo from 17 - 24 June was just outstanding! The key points that I would like to highlight are as follows: - Luca is very responsive and provided valuable insights to us to plan the trips and places to see - The property is situated in greens and provides peace, tranquality and fantastic views - Ira beach is just 5-6 minutes walking distance from the property. Ira beach itself is a gem and I do not think that it is worth driving many miles to other beaches - Very good food store is just about 10 minutes walking distance from the property - Marina of Porto Rotondo is about 20 minutes walking distance from the property featuring many restaurants. I liked a lot Bambusa (in fact Luca recommended this one) - Porto Rotondo is very tranquil place itself and it has lots of restaurants. As a lacto vegetarian, I always could find some proper dish - be it pica, pasta or cheese. For vegans it sometimes can become difficult - As a yoga practicioner, I enjoyed having my practice at the rooftop of the house - Last word - there is shower in the backyard! I enyoyed it a lot. I wish you to have your happy holiday in Porto Rotondo!
