Asciano, just southeast of Siena in the heart of the Crete Senese, is a small rural hamlet in the beautiful Tuscan hills. The town was originally built in its current form during the medieval period, but ancient settlements by the Etruscans and Romans provide the area with an even richer and more diverse cultural heritage. Asciano offers the perfect getaway for families and couples looking to escape the city life, with many beautiful and isolated farmhouses and villas around the village.

After a morning strolling around the village, visitors should then visit one of the local cafes to sample one of Italy’s two famous beverages – wine or coffee, or maybe both. If this hasn’t tired you out, the surrounding hills offer some spectacular views and are also worth exploring on foot or bicycle.

Perfect Tuscan holiday villa.

4 of 5
Wonderful warm welcome by Maria set off what was a brilliant stay at Villa Angelini. It is located in a gorgeous little village with all the amenities you need, all within walking distance Location is perfect for touring around. The villa itself is a beautiful romantic Tuscan villa and very comfortable. Only negative is the showers are handheld in the bath!! Hopefully the owners will remedy this. Otherwise beautiful. The views over the valley from upstairs at sunrise and sunset are exquisite. The twinkling of the lights from the far away properties must be experienced. It truly is a Tuscan romance!! Maria, the property manager was a delight and so helpful. She made sure our stay was memorable. Thank you. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it. Though the property owners could provide more candles for outside eating area and perhaps electric lighting outside as well. It's a bit dark for a bbq later in the day. Unfortunately our next stay in a villa in Umbria was not such a fabulous memory - but a disappointment.

Perfect location and wonderful countryside

5 of 5
The drive up from d Arbia was beautiful and Anna and Francesca made us very welcome. It is a stunning location from which to explore some of Tuscany and after a day's sightseeing, it was lovely to return to with it's peace and tranquility. Clean and well maintained and very secure, comfortable beds and plenty of hanging space for clothes. Would recommend to friends and family.
