Family holiday at the charming Sa Perda apartments

5 of 5
We're a family with 3 kids aged 3 to 8 and picked Elisabetta's Sa Perda apartments for the 5 days of our Sardinia vacation spent on the East coast in early May. What helped us with our decision was the beautiful pictures of these charming apartments and the extremely positive reviews we've read about the place and about Elisabetta herself. Not to mention her excellent English, as we hardly speak or understand any Italian. It has to be said that we were very happy with our choice of accommodation. The welcome was warm, the apartment with two terraces and a garden really nice and clean and we got all the information about the apartment and the area we could wish for. Elisabetta gave us some advice on things to do and places to visit of her own and answered all our questions about activities we had in mind from before. She even looked up for some information she wasn't sure of. A high speed wifi access was arranged for us on request and free of charge, plus we were offered some other extras also free of charge. The apartment was not huge, but we spent most of our days outside and could manage even with three small kids. Perhaps it should be noted that bed linen and towels are not included in the price of accommodation, so either bring your own or count in an additional charge, which is reasonably priced. There's a nice sand beach just minutes away from the apartment on foot and there's a number of other really nice beaches which can be reached in 15 minutes car ride or less. We spent an afternoon on Cea, which was really beautiful, and Elisabetta said Lido Orri is also fantastic but we didn't manage to visit it. What we did do, was an easy 5km (one way) hike from S. Maria Navarrese to Pedra Longa, which is not to great for swimming but extremely panoramic, and a somewhat more demanding hike to Cala Goloritze, which, as the whole family agreed, was one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen. All in all, we've had a really nice holiday at Sa Perda and would definitely recommend it to our friends. Thank you, Elisabetta!

High standard house very near Porto Frailis beach

5 of 5
We were a family of six (four adults, two small children). The description was accurate (although the piano is only for decoration). The house is in a residential area of Arbatax, very near Porto Frailis beach. It is designed by an architect, and although the style is not to everyone’s taste, the house is very comfortable, spacious and practical with high quality fittings and furnishings. On the first floor, there is a huge living room, kitchen and wonderful covered terrace facing the pool with a kitchen and BBQ grill, sofas, chairs and a table which seats 6. There is a laundry area and an outside area with sun loungers and a clothes drying rack. It is completely private. The terrace at the front has a view of the hills and gets the evening sun, but has only one table and three chairs, so we didn’t use it as much. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor: a master bedroom, with double bed, walk-in closet, lots of storage and room for an additional single bed or cot; a second bedroom with a single bed and space for another single bed; a third bedroom with two single beds (or one double). All the beds were comfortable. Two single folding beds can be added in the living room upstairs, so that the house sleeps 8 people. There are two complete bathrooms: a downstairs bathroom with shower and an upstairs bathroom (with frescoes!) with bath and shower over, so you can bathe children. The property was spotlessly clean, only some very minor maintenance items, for example one toilet seat. The manager, Mara, provides excellent customer service, answering text messages very promptly and giving advice on local facilities, and even accompanying me to the pasticceria to buy a birthday ice cream cake! Porto Frailis beach is only 5 minutes on foot, easy walking distance even for the children. All the local beaches have got EU Blue Flag classification. Restaurants and gelaterie within walking distance. A good bakery only 5 mins by car, fruit shop, cake shop and small supermarket. In nearby Tortoli, supermarkets, a fish cooperative and fresh pasta shop. Few negative points: no external shutters on windows so for total darkness you have to shut the windows as well. No mosquito screens; low water pressure; noise from disco and/or Red Valley Festival; complicated Sardinian recycling. In conclusion, I would strongly recommend the property and we would all like to go back there next year.
