Anzio beachside apartment

4 of 5
Very spacious and well-appointed. It was only when we got there that we appreciated how close it is to the beach. It is wonderful to be able to swim in the sea but not have to carry a huge bag of clothes and towels there. Basically, you read a book on the terrace and when you get too hot you just walk down the steps and into the sea and then straight back up to the terrace again. I was also impressed with how many shops, cafes and restaurants were within walking distance. Having the railway station (Anzio Colonia) so close was fantastic because it allowed us to travel into Rome on a couple of occasions without the stress of driving.
