Make a Holiday Rental House in Tabanan, Indonesia Your Home Away From Home

For a holiday that shies away from mass tourism but offers enjoyable activities and tranquillity at the same time, look no further than Tabanan. This city is the capital of the Tabanan Regency in the western part of the island of Bali. Whilst some areas of Bali are overrun with tourists, a Tabanan holiday rental house will ensure that you get peace away from the masses without having to compromise on activities to make your holiday complete.

Things to Do on Holiday to Tabanan, Indonesia

Bali Butterfly Park in the town is a small centre but it has several species on show. You can also learn more about butterflies as there is a lot of research being carried out here. It is recommended that you visit the centre in the morning as this is when the butterflies are most active. On the outskirts to the east of the town is the Subak Museum which gives an insight into the production of rice and agriculture in the area. The Gedong Marya Theater is also worth a look, having been built in 1974 in tribute to one of Bali’s most famous dancers, I Ketut Marya.

In the immediate area of Tabanan you will find several black sand beaches dotted here and there along track roads. These are a great opportunity to relax and take in some stunning sea views. These beaches are unfortunately not recommended for swimming or watersports.

Places to Visit on Holiday to Tabanan, Indonesia

Approximately half an hour’s drive to the north-east of Tabanan is the village of Sangeh where you will find the Sangeh Monkey Forest. This forest has been around since at least the 17th century and covers approximately 6 hectares. It is occupied by sacred monkeys who have always lived in the area. As monkeys are associated with holy areas in Bali, a temple was built here, the Pura Bukit Sari. The forest and all of its plants, birds and animals are protected and documented.

Also worth a visit is the small town of Pejaten, approximately 12 kilometres to the south of Tabanan. Pejaten is renowned for its pottery and many of the residents spend their days making washbasins, pots and roof tiles. The pottery is beautifully decorated and it is possible to purchase some items to take home as souvenirs.

Weather in Tabanan, Indonesia

Those who visit Tabanan on the island of Bali will be able to experience warm weather all year round thanks to the tropical climate. The daytime temperature fluctuates between 21°C and 33° throughout the year. There is a rainy season which lasts from December to March and Tabanan can be quite wet during this time.

Travel to Tabanan, Indonesia

Travellers will start their Tabanan holiday by flying into Denpasar International Airport (DPS), approximately 30 kilometres from the town. There are no direct flights to Tabanan but there are many airlines that offer affordable flights such as British Airways, KLM, Qantas Airways and Singapore Airlines. Travellers can leave from various UK airports including Manchester (MAN, Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW), Birmingham (BHX) and Edinburgh (EDI).

Absolutely woubderful stay! Kind caring staff, beautiful villa and peaceful garden!

5 of 5
Our stay at the villa for our honeymoon was perfect from the beginning to the end. The staff were so kind and friendly, there when you needed but so quiet that it felt like it was just the two of us! The food we had cooked in the morning and evening was incredible, we had traditional food and it was cooked to perfection and has changed our food pallets! The garden was beautiful, so peaceful and restful, the pool was lovely to cool off in and the veranda was comfortable to read books and be calm. The housekeepers and gardeners kept the villa and gardens clean and homely for us and offered advice and help when going out with taxis and exciting places to visit. The villa itself was also beautiful and we felt like we were in a little haven the whole time. Bali was also beautiful, such a different culture and it was a wonderful experience. We went to the temples, the monkey forest, the safari park rode elephants, gitgit waterfall, la lucchiola, had massages in the villa and went to echo beach ... but be careful to walk the right way to old man from echo beach! Our taxi drivers were so caring, offered friendly advice and knowledge and kept us safe. We would 1000% recommend this villa and all the wonderful staff who gave us knowledge about their home, looked after us and fed us wonderful food! Kiki was amazing and so friendly to work with helping us to organise the whole trip. Paul the owner also has been so easy to talk to and helped us with our booking and planning the honeymoon! Soooo brilliant! Dina the dog also was so sweet and protected the villa. Thank you so much for an unforgettable honeymoon!
