We stayed for a week at the Madalina House this December, 2016. Our host, Abhi and his family, were absolutely wonderful, very gracious and helpful. Upon arrival, we were served coconut milk in coconut shells and greeted warmly. Abhi was helpful in arranging transportation, a houseboat tour, and other activities. They provided meals for us on the evenings we chose and the Indian meals were excellent. In fact, we wish we would've had them prepare all the evening meals as grocery shopping was a bit of a challenge (he will probably give you a better price than what is quoted on the website). The house is lovely; we thoroughly enjoyed our evenings in the Living Room playing games and chatting away, and the fun pool which the kids and some of us adults enjoyed. The dining room and kitchen were also nicely done. The only negatives were having little hot water during the week (I'm sure they are working on this by now), the electrical going off occasionally when the government decides to turn it off -- at the most a half hour and they have a generator when necessary. Overall, this was a delightful reprieve from a busy life style. If you want to spend time in Kochi, keep in mind that it is a 45 minute drive -- you might be better staying a night or two in Kochi first and then going here to relax.
