Make holiday rental apartment or property in India your home away from home

India truly is dazzling. It is impossible not to fall in love with India, almost as soon as you arrive, as there is colour and vibrancy in almost every aspect of life. The spectacular wild landscapes, indescribably beautiful national monuments and shear friendliness of the people make holidays to India absolutely unforgettable, and it is easy to see why so many of those who travel to India can never bring themselves to leave. There are enough sights to see from a holiday home or apartment in India to last you for ever, from the iconic views of the Taj Mahal to the world famous beaches of Goa, the amazing religious festivals to the awe-inspiring mountain scenery.

Places to visit on holiday to India

South India, or the Deccan, encompasses the states of Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka. The landscapes are truly diverse, from the beaches of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean to the huge mountains of the Ghats. However, it is the cities of Bangalore, Madurai and Chennai, the City of Temples, that draw the largest crowds. South India is the most popular region with tourists, partially due to the flamboyance of the cities, but also because the best beaches in India lie on the edges of the Deccan Peninsula.

North India is a hotbed of culture. India’s capital, Delhi, lies within the bounds of North India, as do the unbelievable landscapes of the Himalayas and the sacred sources of the Ganges, meaning that this part of India has shaped the course of Indian history and culture. The forts and palaces of North India are absolutely incredible, and you will no doubt find yourself exploring many of them from a holiday home or rental apartment in India.

West India includes the states of Gujarat, Goa and Maharashtra, with some of the most amazing natural parks, sand beaches and ornate temples you could imagine. Far from the break-neck paces of Indian cities elsewhere, west India is a place to truly unwind and relax, either on the famous beaches, huge Buddhist Caves and traditional festivals.

East India is the most unexplored and wild region in India. Traditional tribe cultures still live on strong in East India, and you shall hear many dialects being spoken. Nature really has pulled out all the stops in East India, providing landscapes that you can only imagine before your arrive at your self catering holiday home in India. The perfect combination of people, nature, culture and colour means that you will find it very hard to leave East India at the end of your holiday.

Weather in India

The climate in India varies dramatically from region to region. In general, the hot wet monsoon season starts around June time, having completely swept through the country by July. November until mid February are probably the best times to travel to India, as hottest temperatures reach around 40°C, which is certainly hot enough for most of us from Europe! If you like it even hotter, the period from April until June is when India’s climate really gets warm.

Onella is one of the good properties we have stayed in Kumaon. The property is beautiful, well

4 of 5
Onella is one of the good properties we have stayed in Kumaon. The property is beautiful, well maintained and just right for about 6 people /family getaway. The caretaker; Chandan is very courteous and responsive. He is good at cooking too. Do ask him to cook mouth watering/ delectable parathas. The only thing we didn't like about this property was that the walls and floor wood work is too thin and very noisy. You can practically hear from one room to the other or the room beneath/above you.
