Make holiday rental in Goa your home away from home

Goa, a state on the east coast of India, is a wonderful holiday oasis which has developed a (slightly unfair) reputation as a sun, sea and party destination. Whilst this reputation is founded, there is much more to enjoy from Goa accommodation too. Although the hippies have long gone, the finest aspects of Goa which first attracted them are still there, from the beaches of the Arabian Coast to the wildlife rich countryside of the interior, as is much of the atmosphere which they created. Many people are so taken with Goa’s beaches and untouched countryside when they first visit accommodation in Goa that they end up buying Goa property in which to live.

Things to do from your holiday rental in Goa

Most holidays in Goa revolve around the beaches, and it is little wonder as the golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see in many places, and there are regular electronic music and psy-trance parties which spring up during the evening, making a Goa beach hut one of the most social, if a little hectic, types of accommodation you can take in Goa! The favourite Goa beach to visit is undoubtedly Calangute Beach, but Anjuna, Palolem, Miramar and Dona Paula are superb places to hire a Goa property too.

Diving holidays are exceptional in Goa due to the warm waters of the Arabian Sea, which teems with marine life. Scuba diving holidays can only be taken from mid October until May as monsoon conditions make diving impossible from June until October. If you are looking to dive during your holiday, take a Goa villa or beach hut in or around Panjim, Pigeon Island or Candolim.

Culturally speaking, Goa is an incredibly diverse place. There are so many religions and cultures intertwined in Goa that there seems to be as many holidays as working days in Goa’s completely unique cultural calendar.

If you venture away from the party beaches, the countryside of Goa is truly remarkable. Dotted across the area are a number of spectacular bird and animal sanctuaries, from which you can walk and explore, hopefully catching a glimpse of some of India’s rarest animals from one of the watch towers. There are also a range of stunning coastal forts along the Goan coastline, which are well worth investigating from any accommodation in Goa.

Places to holiday in Goa

Panaji is the official capital of Goa, and one of the best places to see an assortment of the famous Goan churches, palaces and temples. Panaji is one of the smallest state capitals in India, but defiantly one of the most alluring.

Weather in Goa

The monsoon season in Goa lasts from June and the beginning of October, which really limits your options from a Goa property, whether you are staying in a villa in Goa or a beach hut. During the remainder of the year, the weather is extremely pleasant, ranging from 29°C – 33°C during the days.

Travel to your holiday accommodation in Goa

Every year, more charter flights leave England, in particular, London, for Goa, landing at Dabolim Airport (GOI). ThomsonFly, First Choice Airways and MyTravel Airways all provide cheap flights to Goa, which has made reaching accommodation in Goa from the UK and across Europe far less of an adventure in itself!

Nice comfortable place with lots of shops /eateries as you step out of the condo. The beach is only a short walk away. It is clean with only a few restaurants/shacks and a small smattering of tourists (mostly Russian). We went for long walks and always ended it with a swim in the warm waters of the Arabian Sea. On the walk back be sure to stop by the roadside vendor to take in a nice omelette and chili pakoras. Sophie was very helpful in all aspects and her two pets - Two Face and Freddie made it feel just like home.

This property is well worth renting. Lovely area in the middle of Candolim. The complex is great, very quiet with a lovely pool. The property is very spacious. Once you leave the complex your in the middle of Candolim with great bars and restaurants. 10 minutes walk and your on the beach with different selection of shacks. Highly recommended by us.

A wonderfully appointed apartment in a very pleasant location.

My friends & I thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay, and wished it had been longer. The apartment's numerous terraces mean you can always sit in either sun or shade. The rear terrace overlooking the paddy field is particularly pleasant on an evening with a nightly display of Egrets, Storks, Eagles, Kites & Water Buffalo. Sandra & her son William, who live directly below are delightful people & very helpful. The neighbourhood has a few noisy dogs, but the same can be said for most of Goa! Several beaches are within easy reach, our favourite was the quieter Sernabatim (may have spelt that wrong??) beach.
