Make A Holiday Rental House in Veere, Holland, Your Home Away From Home

The beautiful village of Veere is located on the edge of an inland lagoon, in the Zeeland region of Holland. With its cobbled streets, and old buildings, it is an ideal destination for anyone seeking to get away from it all and relax in a peaceful atmosphere. The best way to do this, is by staying in a holiday rental house in Veere, in order to experience life as one of the locals. Well decorated and comfortably furnished, it also includes a fully-fitted kitchen, meaning that it is not necessary to dine out for each and every meal.

Things to Do on Holiday in Veere, Holland

With its excellent network of cycle routes and lanes, a holiday in Veere is ideal for anyone interested in cycling for both short and long distances. The land is famously flat in Holland, and so no nasty hills are experienced, although from time to time the wind may make it feel as though an uphill section has just been encountered! Other activities that are possible around the holiday rental house in Veere include fishing, golf, wind surfing, swimming, tennis and sailing.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Veere, Holland

After a disastrous flood in 1953, the area surrounding Veere was the centre of a project known as the Delta Project. Using a network of dams and dikes, land was reclaimed and protected, and islands connected by bridges. This is an excellent place to explore by bicycle, and provides some interesting photo opportunities. A few kilometres away from the self catering accommodation in Veere is the town of Middleburg, and this has a handful of worthwhile sights, such as the Gothic Stadhuis (town hall) and the Abdij complex which consists of three churches and two museums.

Weather in Veere, Holland

Veere has a temperate climate, which is influenced by the North Sea as well as by westerly winds. This means that summers are warm and winters mild. The best time to take a holiday in Veere is during the summer months, when the day time average temperatures measure above 20 degrees Celsius, and rarely fall lower than 13 degrees at night. This ironically coincides with heavier rainfall than the winter months, and 70mm per month can fall between June and August. During the winter, the day time average highs rarely exceed 7 degrees, and dip to 0 to 1 degrees at night. Frosts do happen from time to time, and it will snow on occasion.

Travel to Veere, Holland

The simplest way for travellers from the UK and other parts of Europe to reach their holiday rental house in Veere is to drive there. There are regular ferry services from the UK to Calais in France, from where it is a pleasant drive along the coast. The Chunnel also crosses into Calais, and many people prefer this quicker option. Whilst flying is possible, by the time a rental car and travel to the self catering accommodation in Veere has been sorted out, it may have been quicker to drive!

A Great Choice

5 of 5
A great house in a great area, I have no hesitation giving it five stars. The Seasons is a house full of character with a wonderful wrap around window and a fantastic garden. The house was clean and well furnished and we were afforded a warm welcome. It is a great place for a family break with the cycle path across the road and historic towns like Veere and Zierikzee to visit. We liked the beaches at Domburg and the train journey from Middleburg to Antwerp for a great day out. Yes a washing machine would have been useful but The Seasons is a characterful and relaxed place to stay and this more than makes up for this omission. We met no other British tourists on Walcheren, a shame because its an easy crossing from Harwich and Maria made the booking procedure easy- she always answered enquiries promptly and helpfully and we felt in good hands throughout the booking procedure. My family had a great holiday here and my son really enjoyed experiencing the Netherlands, the weeks sunny weather was an added bonus.
