We had a great first holiday in the Caribbean staying at this villa in Pointe Noire. The house is lovely and everything works. It has a great outside seating area for relaxing and bbqs. If you want a quiet holiday, this is the place. The villa is right next to a great beach, perfect for swimming and looking at sea life. There are restaurants on the beach open for lunch, which are good. The hosts are wonderful as well. We got along fine in English, basic French and where necessary, google translate. We can sincerely recommend it as a base for a lovely holiday.
We spent 5 happy nights at Franck & Christiane's rental in March. We are so glad that we found this place on Homeaway. Franck was incredibly helpful and attentive to all our questions. Everything was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the aperitifs, and the evening we spent visiting with you both!
The beaches at Grande-Anse and nearby Plage Leroux are just gorgeous. (Great snorkeling at Plage Leroux!) Another highlight was the boat tour of the Grande Cul-de-Sac Marin. There are several companies running these tours out of nearby Ste-Rose. We went with Gwadaventure, which was fabulous!
For any English-speakers looking at this rental, Franck not only speaks English well, he will also help you with your French and teach you some Creole!
DO follow Franck's directions to find this place. We tried to follow the map on the Homeaway website and with Google maps, so we caused ourselves some trouble the first night. When I finally re-read Franck's directions, I found it without any further difficulty. (It's located in the village of Piton, up the hill from Deshaies.)
We highly recommend this property and our wonderful hosts.
Merci beaucoup, Franck et Christiane!
