  • Villa Nikos - a real Gem
    5 of 5

We always look for somewhere in a local village when we go on holiday rather than in a main tourist resort. Villa Nikos was perfect. A peaceful home, (and it really did feel like home,) in a quiet location but very close to Roda and Sidari with great shops and plenty to do and see. We had a “night out” in Roda then simply got a taxi back that evening and walked back along the back roads to Roda the following morning to collect our car. It was a pleasant walk. The house itself is lovely, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean with 2 good sized bedrooms, with plenty of storage. Everywhere is so tastefully decorated with quirky, personal touches which make it special. There was even a welcome pack of food and drink when we arrived. We loved all the different sitting areas outside in the beautiful garden - again with lots of quirky detail and features. We were lucky enough to enjoy two perfect weeks of weather and we spent a lot of time in the garden, in fact we ate most of our meals outside. We would watch the sunrise in the morning from the patio area and see the little fishing boats set out. And in the evenings we would listen to the crickets and scops owls and watch for bats and a friendly toad. The local beach is just outside the gate with plenty of sunbeds – and great swimming. There are two local tavernas in Astrakeri – with the Three Brothers literally steps away. The local supermarkets are excellent and good value. One of the best things about Villa Nikos are Maggie and Des – and their family of four legged friends. They are warm, friendly and helpful, without being obtrusive, and we learnt a lot about Corfu life from them. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone – you wont be disappointed.

  • Amazing holiday

If I could rate the Curator's House higher, I would. My wife and I spent nine days here and it truly became a home away from home. The place is located close enough to town to have a very short drive, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of Corfu nature. A small taverna (Panorama) is just a couple of minutes walk away and provides amazing dinners in a truly authentic environment. The villa is large and immaculately clean and well cared for. Although it was just the two of us staying there, it could easily hold a few couples comfortably if you were traveling with a group of friends. The pool area is spotless, very spacious and provides everything you need to spend some lazy days lounging around the pool soaking up the sun. The villa is perfect, but what truly makes this place amazing though is Anastasios. Words truly cannot describe the amount of energy he invested in us to make this our most memorable vacation. It was the type of service we expect when at a 5 star hotel. He arranged for a private transfer from the airport (Mercedes S class), he got us a rental car delivered to us at the villa and he even got a friend to drive us to and from the other side of the island so that we could have a day without having to worry about driving. Not only did we have him set up one all day boat excursion that he personally captained for us, it was so amazing we had him set up another one to Paxos and Antipaxos that again he captained. Our last day, he offered to show us Corfu town and have lunch and coffee (which we did) and then personally dropped us off at the airport. We were blown away by the friendship he showed us and when we come back it will almost certainly be because of the experience he was able to provide.
