Things to do

Rhodes:

Discover the capital city of Rhodes, of the same name. Located on the northern tip of the island, the city is home to approximately 80,000 people. Explore the old medieval city ruins and the modern city as it functions today. The ancient city was even built with a protective moat.

St. Paul's Bay:

Visit any one of the beaches on the island of Rhodes. For example, visit the closed-off cove of St. Paul's Bay in Lindos. Lindos is a small bay, and St. Paul's Bay faces a Haraki resort. The apostle Paul is said to have landed in this bay during a storm. Make sure to see the beautiful inlet.

Church of the Panagia:

The Church of the Panagia is located in Lindos. The church is easily identifiable by its bell tower made of stone. It is white-washed outside with red roof tiles, and inside the floor is designed in the kokklaki fashion, which consists of black and white pebble mosaics.

Archaeological Museum of Rhodes (Hospital of the Knights):

The Archaeological Museum sits in the former Hospital of the Knights. This interesting building is bioclimatically designed to cool in summer and heat in winter. The Museum has exhibits on the archaeological findings on Rhodes and its surrounding islands.

Water Park:

Visit the Water Park on the island of Rhodes. The water part was built amphitheatrically on 328,000 square feet of the island. It is located 7.5 miles from Rhodes centre. Slides, black holes, free fall, kamikaze slides, and other rides can all be found at this attraction sure to please adults and children alike.

Acropolis of Lindos:

Visit the Acropolis of Lindos. This fortress was appropriated by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John, and even the Ottomans. This layered history makes it a difficult site to excavate on an archaeological level. The view of the coast and the nearby harbour is spectacular.

Weather in Rhodes

Weather on Rhodes is consistent with a Mediterranean climate: hot and dry in the summer, with rainy and mild winters. Summer temperatures reach into the mid-30s and winters do not generally fall below 10°C. The Etesian Wind system is present from May to October each year. This system, also called the Meltemi, can be problematic for sailors.

Travel to Rhodes

Getting to Rhodes is simplest by plane. Book your flight into the Rhodes Airport (RHO), also called Diagoras. Both regular and chartered flights leave and arrive daily from all over Europe. Once in Rhodes, a ferry system throughout the entire Aegean Sea brings travellers to and from all major islands and to the mainland of both Greece and Turkey.

A lovely place

5 of 5
We had such a good time at Sunset 2. The Villa is perfect for a group of 4 or 5. What really sets it apart is the outdoor space which enables you to live in some luxury whilst enjoying the amazing view. The villa is beautifully equipped and any small problems were dealt with immediately. We would heartily recommend staying here if you are coming to Rhodes.

Great villa, good size, well equipped and clean

5 of 5
We had a fantastic holiday, we loved being within walking distance of Lardos village to shop in the supermarket and bakery and eat/drink in the many pubs and tavernas (we loved Valentinas, Savvas and the kids loved the Mocktails in Memories!) We hired a car to see more of the island and loved Rhodes, we liked Golden Sands (Agathi), Haraki and we went to Glystra beach most, the kids loved snorkelling and spotted loads of fish. We went on the 'sofa' at Lardos beach which was great fun! Lindos well worth a visit, we didn't make it to the top of the Acropolis, maybe next time! Our time in the villa was relaxing, the pool isn't huge but was big enough for us with a lilo and ring. Lovely clean towels and bedding and before, during and after our stay Raymond was incredibly helpful, even helping with our hire car booking. We'll be back!
