Laconia is a prefecture on mainland Greece which offers quiet and relaxing holidays in a number of historic towns including Sparta, the region's capital. Laconia is backed by the Taygetus, Arcadia and the Parnon Mountains and its southern shores border the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Laconia. It is a popular and pleasant region offering a taste of the "real Greece" with its citrus groves, olive trees and ancient history. The mountains offer hilly walking trails and caves with stalactites while the coast offers small bays and secluded havens with endless stretches of sand and crystal clear waters. There are a host of activities, sights and things to do when renting a Laconia villa or holiday rental.

The ruined palace is still quite impressive and the Monembassia Gateway and Lascaris Mansion reflect the wealth  of a former era.

Perfect stay.

Lemon & Lime Cottage really is a true HomeAway From Home! We stayed for a week in July in this beautiful little cottage located in a friendly and picturesque little village in the mountains. It comes fully equipped with everything needed to make this a very relaxing and restful stay. Very clean and charmingly styled. The beds were extremely comfortable and the easy to use air conditioning made our stay even more comfortable as the weather during our stay was incredibly hot - 30+ degrees most days! Both bathrooms were extremely clean and easy to use. The shower in the upstairs bathroom is arguably the best shower we’ve ever had in the many years we’ve been travelling to Greece! The garden areas are stunning with an array of flowers, lemons and limes (of course!) and butterflies! The sun roof is a delight - particularly at sunset. The little plunge pool is very private and lovely to cool off in after a hot day of exploring. A car is definitely needed but the roads are extremely easy to navigate with little or no traffic. The suggestions and easy directions to interesting places to visit, shop and eat, provided by Keith and Teresa were invaluable and really made our trip. Meals at Olive and Ellies were sublime. A trip to Douro Caves fascinating and fun. Exploring mountain villages, shopping in Kardymili, relaxing on deserted beaches - all thanks to the suggestions provided by Keith and Teresa. We rarely, if ever, return to our holiday destinations but are sorely tempted to return to Lemon & Lime to enjoy another week in this beautiful cottage in a stunning part of the world!

Incredible view and quiet mountain location

4 of 5
The location was everything that the property description and photos promised - superb. The accommodation itself is very nice, if a little cluttered - we would remove the open divider between the kitchen and the bathroom door, and also the breakfact bar between the kitchen and the living room. For stays of more than one week, there should be a weekly cleaning service as a minimum. The owners are lovely - nothing is too much trouble. Car hire is pretty much essential, unless you are very fit and enjoy extended uphill walking. All in all, one of the best accommodations that we have booked in the Stoupa / Ag. Nikolaos area.
