Make a self catering apartment or holiday rental in Laconia, Greece your home away from home

Laconia is a prefecture on mainland Greece which offers quiet and relaxing holidays in a number of historic towns including Sparta, the region's capital. Laconia is backed by the Taygetus, Arcadia and the Parnon Mountains and its southern shores border the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Laconia. It is a popular and pleasant region offering a taste of the "real Greece" with its citrus groves, olive trees and ancient history. The mountains offer hilly walking trails and caves with stalactites while the coast offers small bays and secluded havens with endless stretches of sand and crystal clear waters. There are a host of activities, sights and things to do when renting a Laconia villa or holiday rental.

Sparta

Sparta is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. It has more than three thousand years of history as well as parks, a castle and beautiful public. The ruined palace is still quite impressive and the Monembassia Gateway and Lascaris Mansion reflect the wealth  of a former era.

Diros

History of a different type can be found in the Diros Caves where the underground river has hollowed out caves, now full of stalactites and stalagmites and colourful formations which formed over thousands of years.

Beautiful and Historic Stone House

4 of 5
We really enjoyed the seclusion and the peaceful ambience of the old stone building. There are quiet courtyards and a high balcony to spend time outside. The kitchen is well-equipped, the house simply and comfortably furnished and though off the grid so no wifi/tv, there are books to read and good maps provided. Although at the end of a small, quiet road, it was really easy to visit local beaches, tavernas, supermarkets and the nearby walking trails. Local contacts Lina and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. Point to note, you will need to provide your own drinking water. All in all a great place to stay to make the most of this delightful part of Greece.

Perfect Sunrise? Not only!

5 of 5
While we arrived quite late at the location (midnight), the owner and her son were waiting for us. Being a bit tired, we went quickly through the explanation and function of the house and went to bed. When we woke up, you had to sit down a bit to understand that we landed in a small paradise. The view is astonishing, the quality of the furniture of the villa (beds, chairs, kitchen equipment) very good, the garden just beautiful and the direct access to the sea simply great. We stayed there with two families (4 adults and 4 children). The villa is on two levels which are totally independent from each other. This made it extremely comfortable especially when you have kids waking up earlier than the others. The most difficult everyday was to get out of the villa to do some cultural stuff and surroundings. The villa is close to Porto Helli where you can find all what you need (2 bakeries, supermarket and restaurants which all provide takeaway (considering the view at the villa, we enjoyed to have diner there)). At half of the week, a cleaning lady came to fix the towels, linen, garbage. This was great. On the location itself, I would say that it is perfect for families and people wanting to take a breath of calm. The house is a family house, not an investment property, thus it has been taken care with passion and love. I would definitively recommend it (so long I am able to have my slot in the calendar). With my family we will definitively go back there since it fulfils all what we are looking for (quality, services, view, calm, restaurants…). As an in-between person between the reservation and the arrival at the place we exchanged with Alex from Blue Window Holiday Homes. Very nice contact and helpful in all aspects. So in conclusion, it was a perfect villa!
