The seaside town of Kyparissia is well located for enjoying the best of both the beaches and the mountains in southwest Peloponnese. The beautiful area is relatively undiscovered by tourism but has plenty of ancient monuments and things to do. The long sandy beaches are favoured by the sea turtles that come ashore and make their nests in the breeding season. The town has two areas: the upper Ano Poli which is the traditional settlement within the city walls, and the Kato Poli which is the more modern area. The palm-tree lined road leads from the centre of the town down the hill to the beautiful beach and the surrounding area is given over to vineyards and olive groves.

Perfect get away

4 of 5
My husband and I spent 12 days in this lovely, clean and well equipped beach house. Everything you could want in the house from kitchen accessories to towels. A request of beach towels was a good call and very much used, they are such a heavy item to travel with when restricted luggage is adhered to. Very close to quiet beach Sunny Paradise with a beach bar and sunloungers, you can hear the waves lapping on the beach. Owner was very nice and helpful in the run up and during our stay. We used the garden almost every day and the little cool pool was great. Lovely garden furniture. The house is situated on the very edge of Kyparissia, a lovely town with lots of cafes, a few restaurants - the ones near the beach front we found the best. Very relaxing stay in a lovley part of Greece. We hired a car, which was useful. The one and only downside was neighbouring dogs barking during the night. Tip: make sure if you sre staying for more than a week, book a clean/sheet change - we didn't realise this was extra, wasn't very clear on HomeAway site Thanks for a lovely stay.

Arcadia

5 of 5
This is an extremely well kept property in a lovely part of the southwestern peloponessos You can see it is more than an investment for the owners as there is really a properly equippped kitchen where you can cook and even bake should you fancy it Nice rustic crockery, fluffy towels and additional pool beach towels are plentiful There are even herbs growing outside the kitchen and Charles and Ellie who look after the place give you a welcome stock ( eggs, milk, butter water - even a complimentary bottle of very good (ktyma mercoury) wine ). They are English which might give reassurance to people who do not speak Greek or are familiar with Greek customs. Most importantly they are a lovely couple and very helpful who have lived in the area for long enough to know it inside out What s not to like? Nothing really it might be too remote for some being 3 Km s up a mountain ( we felt perfectly safe and enjoyed the view), the drive is steep and may scare some and the master bedroom door needs a bit of joinery as it does close not fully Ow it s perfectly maintained in a virtually untouched part of one of the most striking provinces of Greece( olyimpia 15 min, bassae 30 min, pylosnetc also close even my stars doable as a day trip) close enough to Patras should people decide to drive
