Make a holiday rental property or villa in Koroni, Greece your home away from home

Located in the southern area of the Peloponnese, Greece, Koroni is a tiny port village, made famous by the dominant castle that stands above the village. This is real Greece at its best, untainted by the onset of mass tourism and located on the wild, unspoilt coast of the Messinian Gulf. A Koroni property is the ideal hideaway in the Greek sun, seemingly a lifetime away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life back home, as well as the tourist crowds that plague many parts of the Greek coastline.

Things to do in Koroni, Greece

Zaga Beach is just a short, leisurely walk from a holiday rental property in Koroni. Many hours can be spent lazing on the golden sands, swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean or having a long, unhurried lunch in one of the many tavernas and cafes that line the back of the beach.

The huge castle that stands on a rock above the village is a remarkable sight, and the castle is well worth exploring from a holiday villa in Koroni. The whole village is a delight to tour, with the thin, honey-coloured streets home to villas and houses in Koroni decked out in colourful flowers. There are also plenty of fantastic little pavement cafes and restaurants with views out over the gulf, serving delicious dishes of local origin. Nearby, the archaeological discoveries of Messina and Mystras also provide fascinating places to explore from a Koroni holiday rental.

Thanks Ioannis and Stavroulas for letting us rent your cottage. Ideal for 3 adults. We found the animal's voices quite amusing especially the chickens and turkey. (They weren't right outside the window.) It was lovely to be able to eat our meals out on the balcony and look over the trees. Very peaceful. We had to use the air con as it was hot and sticky with not much breeze. Unfortunately it dripped water all night if set to below 25 degrees. Hosts came out quickly to try to sort it out. I think Stavroulas would have produced an ironing board if I'd asked her but didn't want to do ironing as well as cooking! Thanks for the eggs and the olives. They were a treat. We would come again but we explored this part of the world now. We had days out to Nestora's palace and museum (you to do both to see it all). Ancient Messini, Corinth canal, Epidauras, Mystra ( which was interesting) and lots of castles and beaches as it was hot. You need a car. Even Koroni was a bit of a hike in the heat.

WONDERFUL GREECE. WONDERFUL VILLA. WONDERFUL HOST.

Villa Seabreeze is everything that was described on the rental website, only more beautiful and picturesque to the eye than the photo's suggested. The meticulous care that our host, Captain Nerlich gives to his property is apparent in the landscaping and upkeep. A website cannot capture that wonderful breeze off the Mediterranean or those starry, starry nights on the balcony. A website cannot capture the gentle man who was our host for a month and treated us so graciously. But we can relay to you our fond memories of our vacation at Seabreeze on the Peloponnese. From our vantage point in Koroni we were able to visit fascinating ancient Venetian castles. A myriad of beaches were at our disposal, each with a beauty of its own. One in Koroni is for turtle nesting. With the captain's endless knowledge of the area we explored magical waterfalls and a beautiful lagoon. We could almost hear the whispers of the ancient gods at the archeological site of Messini in a peaceful valley north of Kalamata. We travelled north one day to experience Olympia. As I walked through the gates into the ancient Olympian stadium I imagined the roar of those first Olympic games. Then add to these treasured events, we experienced endless Greek villages where we often succumbed to mouthwatering meals and pastries. Relaxing, strolling, getting to know the friendly locals at the kafenia is all part of the Greek experience. In that one month we were "locals" with warm greetings from everyone. The captain's neighbors were delightful and became our neighbors too. We will meet again, maybe here in the U.S. Departing was the only bad experience we felt about Seabreeze. We were not leaving our "HomeAway ", we were leaving our "home". And sadly, we were leaving a dear, dear friend, not just a host. Thank You Captain Nerlich for such a first class month. We will miss you, Seabreeze and Greece.

                                                              Lovely villa, beautiful views

This is a newly built villa with all the accessories for comfort. We were really pleased with the overall cleanliness, design and functionality of the villa. You have everything you need, including easy access to a washing machine and easy parking at the villa. I particularly like the well designed insect screen sliding doors- we never even saw a fly in the villa, let alone a mosquito. The owner is very friendly but also leaves you to enjoy unless he is needed. Our air con went a bit wobbly and it was very hot weather, so we called him and he arranged for it to be fixed without a fuss the same day. The location is beautiful. The villa is high up so you always have pleasant air ( out on the terrace is wonderful on a very hot day- a soft breeze and welcome shade with beautiful views to the countryside and sea) It is only a short 5 minute drive from several quiet gorgeous beaches and from all the eating places and coffee shops in the quaint town of Koroni. The sea is clean, warm and gentle here. We are keen swimmers so it was heaven for us. Beaches are also a sunbathing haven if that is your style. We have been coming to this part of Greece over the last 30 years and love it. But this is the best place we have found and it is very competitive price wise too.
