  • Great stay in nice apartment with sea view
    5 of 5

Beautiful apartment - spacious roof terrace with great view - nice holiday resort At the beginning of October we were guests in Panos' apartment with 4 adults for a little less than 2 weeks. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our time in the apartment and on the beautiful roof terrace very much. Looking at the sea already in the morning at breakfast time - either from the terrace or out of the apartment - always brings us into a good mood. Panos had already provided us with interesting information about the area in advance and also made sure that we found something to eat and drink after our arrival in the apartment. All arrangements with Panos worked well - Panos is really an attentive and interested host. Almyrida is a nice place with a number of restaurants, supermarkets, a very good bakery, ice cream parlour and a beautiful beach. Since we wanted to make trips into the surroundings, to Chania, Rethymnon, Arkadi etc., we had already booked a rental car and could explore the area very well. We had a very relaxed and restful holiday in the apartment of Panos and also in Almyrida. We will be happy to come back.

  • Warm welcome and nothing left to chance!

Both Marianna and Vagelis are such wonderful and helpful hosts to deal with and answer all your questions promptly. Nothing is too much trouble...even working out the logistics of getting my daughter from another airport and back! The property is true to the description but has the addition of a loggia along the poolside wall of the house now, where you can dine then relax in a comfortable seating area. Everything you need is in the property bar a beach towel and the local beaches are definitely worth a visit, but a car is a must. Marianna will have put a 'welcome' pack of necessities in the villa and this can be topped up at the local supermarkets, which sell everything else you might need, even for an impromptu BBQ (they all seem to have a selection of frozen meat/fish) and are open until very late. We stayed the last week in September and the unfortunately the weather did turn a bit wet and windy but there are still things to do and long lunches to be had in the local villages. Be brave and venture out even if it does rain because wierdly when we drove to Almyrida on the coast just some 5k 'ish away it was beautiful weather!! Also visit Lake Kournos. It's breathtaking and has inviting pale turquoise water at the shoreline and the water temperature (according to my son) is like bath water!! You can hire pedalos etc for about 7e an hour or have lunch at one of the lakeside restaurants plus you'll find all the usual gift/souvenir shops too and parking is free. Rethymno is charming and we preferred it to Chania. So much to do in only a week but the villa makes the perfect base for exploring this area. Thank you Marianna and Vagelis for making our stay memorable...From the Barnes' family :)
