Make a holiday rental home or villa in Ermioni, Italy your home away from home

Picturesque Ermioni is one of the most popular tourist towns in prefecture of Argolis, Greece. The town sits on a small promontory opposite the island of Hydra, in the east of the Peloponnese, and the attractive island makes for a popular day trip for those staying in Ermioni villas and apartments. Ermioni itself has a relaxed atmosphere, some excellent beaches and plays host to a number of lively celebrations throughout the year.

Things to do in Ermioni, Italy

Ermioni has something of a tranquil beauty to it, and if you head outside of the main village centre you will find that the terrain becomes rocky and covered with dense forest. Some excellent views of this unspoilt landscape can be enjoyed from the ancient hill of Pronos, which is located on the outskirts of the village centre. Another interesting natural attraction is Franchthi Cave, which is believed to be the oldest once-inhabited cave in the entire country.

The village has several restaurants, cafes and bars, and the nightlife is surprisingly active for a destination of its relatively small size. The locals love to party, and Ermioni plays host to a number of festivals and celebrations throughout the year, providing the perfect excuse for over-indulging on the excellent local food and wine.

Beaches are also close at hand, and by far the most popular place during hot summer’s days. The short stretch at Ermioni village is mostly pebbles, but a better sandy option can be found at Bisti, a short distance to the south. The waters are calm and clear, making them ideal for swimming in during the hottest months of the year, and safe for young children to play in.

Places to visit on holiday in Ermioni, Italy

Ermioni villas can be used as a convenient base for exploring the prefecture of Argolis, and this ancient area of Greece has a number of interesting places to visit. One of these is Kranidi, which is the nearest option at just 8km away, and is also the capital of the municipality. The most popular day trip from Ermioni is a hydrofoil excursion to the island of Hydra, which is just a few short kilometres across the water and is arguably one of the most beautiful spots in the country.

Ermioni, and the Argolis region in general experiences one of the driest climate in the country, so your holiday in Ermioni is highly unlikely to be a washout, whichever month of the year you decide to visit in. July and August are the hottest months, but the entire period between April and October is more than suitable for a holiday in the region.

Beautiful accomodation in a lovely location with wonderful hosts

5 of 5
We loved our home in Hydra! Communication with Apostolos before we arrived was fantastic, and we couldn't have asked for a kinder welcome. The house is just wonderful; we loved all the atmospheric rooms and the lovely balcony - this is a treasured home and we felt very lucky to be staying there. The location is superb - a few steps to Kamini harbour, just a stroll along the coast to Hydra port,or to the little beaches, yet it feels very special and quiet. Thank you Apostolos and Athena for your care and generosity, we couldn't recommend you enough. Ewa

Beautiful location

4 of 5
Villa Aria is set above a beautiful Sandy cove - the photographs on the website make it seem like this is the only property on the beach but there are two other villas that sit within the little cove, plus there is public access to the beach. We were two families of five and whilst the Villa states it sleeps 16 there are in fact only 4 double bedrooms in the main villa. Below the villa is a self contained flat with two more double bedrooms (although you could fit more beds in one of the rooms if required), there is a kitchenette and two bathrooms. There are a further 2 :double bedrooms in a bunker style annexe by the tennis court - no views and not a very nice place to have to stay. The main villa has one bedroom in the ground floor which has an ensuite and is a true master bedroom, the three double bedrooms upstairs share two bathrooms and whilst two have views the third bedroom has no outlook, therefore if you are two families there is only really one proper master bedroom suite. The living space in the Villa is adequate as most time is spent outside, however they do really need air conditioning in the kitchen/sitting room area. I wouldn't say the accommodation is luxurious but there are nice touches like the Korres bathroom products (which I love). The outside space is lovely but more thought should have been given to shady areas, especially for eating breakfast etc - quite limited. The quality of the ouside furniture could be better, only two wooden sun beds and even the mattresses on these are thin and uncomfortable. The real plus of this villa and its location is the beautiful sea and small beach, the villa provides numerous "toys" for water activities. The Dinghy is a real bonus if you have budding sailors. Alex, the owner, is never far away and deals with any issues and requests - he is charming and was brilliant with our teenagers, nothing is too much trouble. Alex has two ladies that help him and they are equally brilliant, we had massages and the teenagers enjoyed a treasure hunt, they also looked after our daughters one day when we went out for the day. Angela is available to cook and do breakfast, we had brekfast everyday which she prepares and then clears away afterwards. The tennis court was great for evening tennis and a dip in the sea afterwards was wonderful. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week, special thanks to Alex.
