DREPANO, ARGOLIDA, PELOPONNESE, GREECE - Enjoy your holidays in Drepano!
Drepano is located in the south east of Argolida in the Peloponnese. It is a peaceful seaside village which combines the endless green colour of the citrus trees and the beautiful beach of Plaka. The hillsides are carpeted with plants; camomile, cyclamens, asparagus, oregano and thyme, and the climate is mild. The main occupations of the area is citrus fruit farming and fishing, which many of the very hospitable locals are involved with.
Drepano is well-known for its traditional taverns which serve typrical Greek food, located in the centre of the village. In the centre you can also find everything you need for your daily shopping (grocery stores, butcheries, bakeries and food markets). Plaka Beach is one of the best and cleanest in the area. You can do water sports or just lie on the beach and enjoy your drink or coffee. You can also have your lunch or dinner in one of the fish taverns right on the beach.
Drepano is ideally situated if you plan to travel around and use it as a base to explore the rest of Argolida and the Peloponnese. The most famous sightseeing locations are nearby: the ancient theatre of Epidaurus where at summer time you can enjoy classical ancient plays (drama festival), the archaeological site Mycenae, the Cyclopian Walls of Tyrintha.
Overall, Drepano is not a big tourist resort; it is a characteristic picturesque Greek village. Beautifully situated, Drepano waits for you to arrive on holiday and feel the hospitality of the inhabitants in a village that is not yet influenced from major tourist development, but still keeps its charm which will attract you from the first minute of your visit.
