We loved this apartment from the moment we entered it, despite the hot July weather it remained nice and cool. The decor is really lovely and you can just imagine it being a busy bakery back in the day. It has lots of space and has everything you will need. Great kitchen and bathroom, well kitted out, comfy beds and spotlessly clean.
Our 4 year old loved all the toys, but so did the older 2.
The area is lovely, lots of parks and restaurants just steps away, we sat on the little bench on the street most nights after putting the kids to bed and watched the world go by while having a glass of wine or beer, its great for a coffee in the morning as well. The area is very safe and the metro is a few minutes away. We also used the bus to get back from Templehof. There is an excellent ice cream shop just up the street and an amazing kabab place around the corner, but the choice of food places is massive, the healthy place a couple of doors up was great. Lots of quirky little shops around the streets as well.
The communication from Julia and the handover was very good and easy and I've got to say the citizens of Berlin are some of the friendliest people you will find anywhere.
We took a walk up to Schoneberg town hall (1km) for the flea market on Saturday, the market was ok but it was interesting to see where Kennedy made his famous speech from the balcony.
If your visiting Berlin you would struggle to find a better spot to base yourself. The technology museum is fairly close and really worth a visit, also the tour inside Templehof airport was brilliant. The Reichstag's Dome is a must, but you need to register and book before you go. (its free). The TV tower is great for the amazing views and the museums around museum Island are fantastic.I loved the German history museum because its a nice doable size, very well laid out and utterly fascinating.
Julia, thank you for being such a great host, your place is fantastic. It was our second trip to Berlin, the last time was 10 years ago and much has changed in the that time. We'll be back, we'll try not to leave it so long next time but if you still have this place on the go we'll be looking you up. Greetings from Ireland!
