  • Beautifully presented chalet in lovely quiet, wooded location

My wife and I stayed in the Familie Edeling holiday home in Bad Suderode for three nights in July as part of a road trip around Germany. The location was ideal to explore the Harz mountains area with the nearby towns of Quedlinburg and Wernigerode a short drive away. The chalet was beautifully presented, well equipped, immaculately clean and very comfortable and we were made very welcome. It also had lovely big windows looking out on to the beautiful fruit trees. It is situated in a lovely wooded area on the edge of the village so it is only a very short walk to the local facilities. We had a lovely meal at Murphy's Pub there which we would recommend. We drove to Wernigerode one day to take the narrow gauge steam locomotive to the Brocken which was a good experience, although expensive at 43 euros each. We would highly recommend this accommodation to couples wanting to visit this area of Germany.

The owner was in time to give the key and to show us around the house. The accommodation is very good, enough space, well equipt kitchen and a very nice bathroom. The colour of the cottage is not as purple as shown on the picture. Within 50 m you are in a meadow, ideal for dog owners. You can walk for hours and see nobody. There's a fence around the property, also ideal for dogs.
