We spent a very enjoyable week at Bella Vista. The owners Marion and Wolfgang were very helpful but not interfering (perfect really). Although facing south west, even though the weather was very hot (34C one day), the property remained pleasantly cool. The garden with furniture on the decking was a great place to have breakfast in the morning and watch the sun set over the distant hills in the evening. Lots of aeroplanes most of the time spoilt the tranqulity of the area somewhat but maybe we noticed them more because we live in a very quiet part of the UK. The appartment was very clean and well equipped with modern very good quality furniture and appliances. The whole place felt spacious. The bedroom is big and very comfortable. A couple of extra things would have been appreciated in the kitchen: a kettle and teapot(we English like a good cup of tea!) and a microwave. There was no wi-fi internet either which would have been useful to find out more about attractions in the area, weather etc.
There are lots of well marked, mainly forest walks and cycle trails in the area and it is only a short drive to the wonderful Mosel, Ruwer and Saar valleys and the historic city of Trier. We loved Saarburg with its bustling picturesque old town centre with lovely street cafes and restaurants. Wine tasting was great fun and there are lots of good "Weingut"s in all the famous villages and towns including Piesport, Trittenheim, Leiwen, Bernkastel, Cochem, Saarburg and so on. We were disappointed with most of the supermarkets, Edeka in Schweich being the best by far.
Overall then, a super appartment: we'd certainly recommend Bella Vista to friends and family if they were visitng the area.
