Stylish property with all mod cons including a fantastic sauna. The house is situated on the edge of a new(ish) development on the edge of Glowe with great access to shops, a range of restaurants and fantastic biking/walking/running trails.
The house and location are absolutely fantastic. As a large family (3 children, my wife and I, and the dog (a large Weimaraner), we need a good-sized place with space - this has it. It was just remote enough to be totally relaxing without being totally cut off from the rest of the world. The owners were very helpful and spoke excellent English making it simple to get settled. The kitchen is well equipped, as is the living room and the utility room has a washer/dryer. There is also a downstairs toilet/shower. There are books/games and a TV (German), as well as broadband internet (make sure you have the relevant apps for watching online TV abroad). There are a number of outdoor games available which the kids loved - badminton, bowls, etc. Outside is a large garden split by a small road popular with tourists on bikes; there is the odd car maybe once an hour! There's a table and chairs for outside dining/relaxing, as well as a sauna. A private path takes you down to the beach (mostly pebbles), with the odd patch of sand, increasing in frequency (along with people) as you go South-East from the house. There are plenty of little sandy bits akin to mini sand dunes at the base of the cliffs to the North-West if you explore a few hundred metres up the beach, which are perfect little base camps for days by the sea. The water is brisk - I would advise swim suits for small children, although we were early in the season (May). There is no tide in the Baltic (like the Med), so don't expect your mess to be cleaned up overnight! You can fish from the beach - you can pick up a tourist fishing permit for a small fee from local shops. You will need to bring your own rods, etc. I would also advise a set of wind/waterproofs in case of foul weather - it can get really rough up there (don't worry - log fire in the house and amazing views to watch the storms with a bottle of something nice). You can walk/cycle/drive up the coast to the lighthouse station, (it's a bit of a trek so advise cycle if you have kids/aren't particularly active!). It's worth a visit as there is a couple of lovely little shops and a sweet shop with pick-n-mix that the kids will love; take cash (like most places in rural Germany - this place doesn't even take German bank cards). There are shops within 10 minutes' drive; remember most German shops close for lunch (1200-1400) and close at lunchtime on a Sat and don't open on Sun).
I genuinely couldn't fault this place - go here!
