We have just returned from a few day's stay in this excellent first floor (UK English) apartment. Everything about the booking process was clear and simple, with the friendly owner giving us great instructions about everything. We were pleased that her husband (whose office is in the same building) was able to show us around upon arrival too.
We found everything to be perfectly clean, with everything to use in place. The kitchen had everything we needed; although we did not cook as we ate out every day, we did use it for breakfast and snacks. The apartment is very quiet, even though it is on a main road. The birds outside are lively - it's nice to watch them from the balcony. We only saw one other resident a couple of times; they seemed very friendly too. Parking is easy.
The area - there is a good bakery directly across the street, and a well-stocked Rewe grocery store within about a 5 minute walk. We were able to walk to the city centre in about 10 mins. There are buses passing by all the time as well. Tübingen has many good restaurants and shops. Knowing some German will be very useful. We had a couple of lovely meals where my husband, who is just starting to learn, was given an English menu, while I used the German one. Plus, three-way conversations with myself and the waiting staff translating for him! All good fun - it seems a nice, friendly city.
No complaints at all. I wish we had been able to stay longer. I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment, and will certainly try to book here again when we return to the area.
Thank you, Caroline, for your friendly messages. We had a super time.
I can't recommend Rafael's rental more! The neighborhood (a surprising little pocket of New Urbanism) is interesting, charming, and very walkable. It's a bit far from Tübingen Hbf on foot, but there is a very convenient bus that comes frequently and takes you where you need to go. The studio apartment is perfect for two people, and we loved using the balcony in the mornings and evenings. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and we enjoyed cooking there one night as well. Definitely visit the Veit bakery down the block for amazing chocolate croissants! And be sure to walk the neighborhood to check out the interesting architecture and even some forest walking paths.
