We had a wonderful stay in this well appointed apartment arriving on 18th December and departing on 3rd January. The apartment is very comfortable....a real home from home. We particularly liked the open plan living area and kitchen. The apartment is in a quiet residential area....the bedrooms at the rear of the property being particularly quiet.
We found it very easy to travel to and from the airport via public transport. Day to day we used the trams....purchasing weekly tickets was easy from the machines and quite inexpensive......the tram stop at the end of the street made all parts of the city easy to access.
We had researched shops before our visit and enjoyed purchasing a wide variety of delicious foods at Aldi and Lidl both about ten minutes walk away. It was easy to cook lovely meals in the apartment each day.
We celebrated Christmas Eve....which is also our Wedding Anniversary, Christmas Day, New Years Eve.....lots of tremendous fireworks locally and Terrys 65th birthday on New Years day itself.....wonderful !
The music and musical history of Leipzig were some of the reasons for our stay......we were not disappointed....booking Carmen at The Opera House and an organ concert at The Gewandhaus online before our trip was a bonus. We were also fortunate to attend several church services and recitals at churches during our stay.
Communication was straightforward despite our very limited knowledge of the German language.
Thank you Tom and Margret for your lovely apartment....we hope to be back in Leipzig one day for The Bachfest.......hopefully you would allow us to return ?
With Best Wishes from Marie and Terry
The spacious, warm apartment is situated in a language school near good transport links and restaurants. The owners live on the premises. Heather is friendly and informative but not intrusive. Our visit went really well. Leipzig is a very accessible city. You can easily walk around it but I think you do need a little ‘tourist’ German.
