Clean, complete, private, quiet... just great

We've had a great stay in the apartment of mrs Bonert. She is very friendly and always ready to help. The apartment is very clean and everything you'd need is available. We really recommend this apartment if you're looking for a perfect view and home for trip to Trier, Luxembourg or sightseeing in the beautiful environment of the Mosel/Ruwer.

Marvellous self-contained ground floor apartment in beautiful surroundings in quiet hamlet

The Ruthig family are very friendly and hospitable owners of the property who live above the apartment. Given the language barrier, we all did very well and understood each other most of the time! - and lead to some interesting conversations! The apartment is very spacious, well equipped, clean but surprisingly for us there is no dishwasher but this might be normal in holiday lets in Germany. Everything else and more was there and all to a high standard. Because we live in the north of England, we travelled overnight on the ferry from Hull to Zeebruge. Off the boat by 9am, it was only 259 miles to Prosterath (all toll-free motorway virtually including the Brussels ring-road) and we arrived at 15.00 hours after lunching off the motorway in Spa in Belgium not far from the Belgian border with Germany. The apartment is situated on the side of a hill in a beautifully maintained garden with plenty of seating (and tables) arranged in different places to enjoy the views of the distant hills. The whole area is a nature reserve presumably equivalent to our National Parks and is a very wooded area with lots of forests and valleys. Cycle ways (radwegs) and footpaths everywhere. Trittenheim on the Moselle with vineyards and wine shops only 20 minutes drive away. This is an area few English people visit (we only saw four English vehicles during the fortnight we were there and they were in the more touristic Moselle valley. It is a very interesting area and the German people we met are very accommodating. Plenty of shops and small supermarkets locally and prices are good especially beer, wine and spirits. All in all a good location for a holiday in an area you may not have considered before. We were also lucky in that we had two weeks of sunshine while those at home were less lucky. But then we were close to the Moselle wine growing region and the Romans were not daft!
