Make a holiday rental home or property in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany your home away from home

Baden-Wurttemberg is one of 16 German states, located in the southwest corner of Germany. This is one of Germany’s most important tourist regions, largely due to the sheer beauty of the scenery, but also for the rich historical legacy left by centuries of activity in the region. The hospitality in this region is absolutely second to none, and throughout the year, immersing yourself in the culture could not be easier, with festivals springing up throughout the year.

Things to do in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

The landscapes of Baden-Wurttemberg are simply beautiful. There are over 2,000 conservation areas encompassing forests, mountains, lakes, moorland and lush river valleys. The crisp, clean air and thriving wildlife makes a self catering Baden-Wurttemberg holiday rental one of the finest bases for walking, cycling and riding holidays anywhere in Germany. The landscape is speckled with health centres and mineral spas, perfect for full relaxation whilst on holiday.

Baden-Wurttemberg is also a state of art and culture. Many of Germany’s finest cultural institutions call Stuttgart home, including the Stuttgart Ballet, the State Opera and the modern collections of the Staatsgalerie. However, if your Baden-Wurttemberg accommodation is not near Stuttgart, you will not be devoid of art. There are actually 14 first class theatres in the state, as well as an enormous wealth of film, music and art festivals occurring throughout the state and throughout the year. There are also an enormous wealth of castles, palaces and villas to explore, as well as the famous Limes Road Roman wall. Traditional customs still have a strong place in life in Baden-Wurttemberg.

Places to visit on holiday to Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

The Black Forest is one of the most distinctive regions of Germany, famous for its gateau and bears. The Black Forest is a glorious region of thick forests, dramatic highlands and stunning scenery, which cannot fail to inspire and endear any visitor. The mythological heritage is exceedingly rich, and there are very few areas of Germany where the traditional lifestyle is enjoyed with such authenticity.

The Lake Constance – Upper Swabia region of Baden-Wurttemberg is a lush region known as the “Baroque Kingdom of Heaven”. Far from the usual tourist centres, Upper Swabia is a fantastically peaceful region, littered with monasteries and beautiful churches, fantastic spas and huge swathes of open countryside. The huge Lake Constance is also a haven for water sports.

The Swabian Jura is a stunning area of German highlands. The incredible South German Escarpments must be seen to be believed, and have some of the best hiking trails in southern Germany.

Travel to Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

The largest airport in Baden-Wurttemberg is Stuttgart (STR), which is exceedingly well connected to the UK by British Airways and Flybe. A hire car is not essential by any means in Baden-Wurttemberg, but if you would like to really explore, a hire car is an excellent choice.

Very spacious and well equipped. We had a fantastic stay

5 of 5
Fantastic location for seeing the best that Baden-Württemberg has to offer, especially if you like going on country walks. Hayingen is within walking distance from this holiday park, just note that the shops in Germany are closed all day Sundays. There are numerous car parks on arrival, the one nearest the site reception and restaurant is the most popular, but there are always spaces available. No cars are permitted near the cabins themselves, there are free trolleys to help you take your own shopping or luggage to and from your car to the accommodation. Inside your cabin, it is very peaceful, outside you only hear birdsong and may get an occasional 'Hallo' from another guest. With very high ceilings, it felt much more spacious than you'd imagine from the pictures. Very well equipped, the cabin has all the comforts of home, except a washing machine and clothes dryer (there is a communal washroom near the reception, washing machine tokens are purchased from the reception). For entertainment there is a radio, loads of German books, and a small TV, however English visitors should note that there are no English channels on the TV, but with free Wi-Fi (Both router and password are located in the utility room, located outside next to the back door) that isn't an issue. Wi-Fi signal was good throughout the entire cabin, and excellent in the Lounge and Dining Room, internet speed was good too. The restaurant on site also has free Wi-Fi (with daily log-in code available from restaurant staff on request). It should be noted that the lounge seating doubled as an additional 'pull-out bed' if required, whilst the Dining Room seating lifted up and had a wide range of games, ping pong bats, balls and jigsaws located under them. There is also a sun lounger on the deck and outdoor table and chairs there too. For winter guests there is central heating throughout, as well as a real fire, with fuel and kindling provided to get you started. In addition to curtains on all windows, the cabin also has shutters on the exterior, which are great for making the rooms darker, especially if you need a lay-in in the morning. As you are surrounded by nature, there are insects at night, and if coming by car in Summer I'd recommend bringing a fan. There is a children's play area, and games room and the whole area is safe without cars. During the day the park is very quiet and peaceful. The only things you need to remember are towels, duvet covers and pillowcases (80cm x 80cm).
