My family and I stayed here for two weeks in August 2018. There was 11 of us in total, 7 adults and 4 children.
From Calais it took about 8 hours with a stop for a quick lunch. The house is a 10 minute slow bike ride away from the nearest village of Montemboeuf, two adults bikes were at the house free to use. I learnt that the bakery in the village runs out of croissants early, but the very staff are very helpful and you can order what you want for the next day and it will be put to one side. There is also a small spa shop in the village with all the essentials. The large supermarket is a 15 minute drive away.
There is ample parking for vehicles at the side of the property. The entrance to the house leads into a large kitchen, it has a normal size oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and a coffee machine. All manner of pots and pans are also there, you will not need to bring anything.
There is a large open plan lounge/dining room with TV, DVD and sky box and a huge dining table. There is a cabinet with games and books in.
On the first floor is a big family bathroom with bath and shower, opposite is a double bedroom. Also on this level are a twin and another double bedroom. Up to the next level and there are two big bedrooms and another family bathroom with shower.
We put the kids up there as one of the rooms has three single beds in, the other bedroom have two singles.
There is a nice seating area with a large table and umbrella on the pebble patio which also has a BBQ.
The best bit is the pool, its a really good size and with a deep end you can jump in no problems, There are sun lounges and a nice idea of a shaded tent with chairs and a table next to the pool as well.
The road is quiet but its fast and when we were there it was over 30 degrees most days (I loved it) but as its a traditional house there is no air conditioning but fans are supplied. If you are at the front of the house its better to sleep with the windows closed.
We had a lovely time at the big market on a Wednesday morning, we did the most fantastic vineyard tour at La Chevalerie which is about 1 hour away.
All of us have said this is the most relaxing holiday we have been on for years, and the friendly owners who live next door make it easy to enjoy with their recommendations and advice.
Bring a telescope if you have one!
