Delightful stay in a beautiful and quiet mountain location

We had a wonderful stay in Pimberty. It's such a beautiful location which feels right in the middle of the mountains, despite being only an hour's drive from Geneva. We visited in the early autumn, and it is the perfect spot for hiking, seeing the lake and exploring nearby towns. The only slight downside was that the cottage is made of wood which seemed to have some noisy beetles living in it - however we were assured by Karen that she is aware of the issue and they are treating it. The beetles are harmless anyway! The facilities in the cottage are reasonable, perhaps not 'luxury', as the description says, but you will have all you need and be comfortable. Karen was a terrific host throughout - we really appreciated the welcome basket of fresh bread and fruit, recommendations for the local area and general helpfulness.

Comfortable, well equipped property in beautiful location.

A lovely fortnight holiday! Sally and Ryan were great hosts. Friendly and approachable, offering advice and recommendations. The rental is on the ground floor of their huge traditional farmhouse in a small hamlet on the mountain side. The large kitchen diner was well equipped with everything you could possibly need (except for egg cups - which we have found to be the case in all French properties we have stayed in. Do the French not eat dippy eggs??) We especially appreciated the separate living area with TV (multiple language channels) and sofa - very relaxing. The separate bedroom is off the kitchen and has a very comfortable large double bed. The alcove bedrooms are off the living room - we only used these for the storage of bike/fishing/snorkelling/walking equipment so cannot comment on how comfy the double and bunk beds are. Lots of drawers for storing clothes but perhaps slightly limited hanging space. There are board games and books provided to keep all ages amused. The wetroom shower/ WC is off the kitchen and is perfectly functional even before the planned renovations stated in the property description . Further storage for bikes and other bulky equipment was offered in the washing/utility area to the rear of the property. (My husband now has sports equipment storage envy after utilising this space!) Theres space externally to the front of the house for benches and a table with cushions provided, which we sat out at most evenings enjoying the late sunshine and the arrival of the bats at dusk. Although this is adjacent to the village through road, traffic is minimal and anyone passing by gives a cheerful wave and a smile. Some traffic noise can be heard from the main road further down the mountain, but its hardly the M20! Designated car parking was provided 15m from the front door. There is also a grassy sloped area across the road with table and chairs under an ancient looking tree in which to relax, sunbathe and enjoy the view. Oh the view! We never tired of just looking across at the amazing view of the mountains and the beautiful skies - even when shrouded in misty clouds. Overall, everywhere was spotlessly clean, decor was tasteful and relaxing, everything was as I could have hoped for. The location of the house is perfect for the activities we wished to undertake. Close to lakes, mountains and interesting towns - we were never stuck for something to do or somewhere to go. We would highly recommend the farmhouse as a place to stay
