We arrived at the barn after a long journey to be greeted with lots of lovely goodies left for us by the owner Mariusz. The barn is beautifully decorated and spotless. Our dog loved the garden and was quite smitten with the owners dog who is so cute and sweet. From the beams to the beautiful decor the barn was somewhere that I would stay again and again. The garden was full of fruit trees and the grape vine that grew across the front of the barn was full of the sweetest grapes I had ever tasted. There is a boat trip in st sigismond that you really should try. We hired a rowing boat for a small fee and had the best time. We spotted water voles herons and beavers to name a few little critters that spoilt us with their cheeky curiosity. The area is beautiful with fields of sunflowers and corn and the weather was beautiful too. It was even lovely being woken up by Mariuszes Cockerell who came to say hello along with a mother chicken that loved showing off her chicks to us. The walks were amazing around the barn and if you turned left as you left the drive gate you was greeted with forest walks that went on forever so perfect if you had a dog like us who even though she is 14 loves nothing better than a good country walk. Thankyou Mariusz for making us feel so welcome and so looking forward to coming back to see you again next year. We all loved our holiday and leaving was very hard for us but we know that we will definitely be back. Especially if we can have some more of your jumpy honey from your own bees. A truly wonderful experience.

  • The house certainly has character - probably totally unique!.

At the end of an unmade road, with 2 neighbouring cottages, neither of which spoil the privacy. You have your own private estate of many acres with a stream/small river flowing through in a heavily forested area. As paying grandparents we took the modern en suite side upstairs and left son & grandchildren in the original side of the cottage. The house is clearly used by the owner family as it is very well equipped by letting standards. To the right of the hall is a massive comfortable sitting room. It has a large flat screen TV - just be aware that as in many properties in France there are only 3 'English' speaking channels - BBC World is only watchable one. There is as described a DVD player but unfortunately no cables to connect to anything. Bit of a pain because on the very hot days (all of them) it's good to get young children indoors for an hour to chill. Brill kitchen diner with a large modern range. Downstairs toilet / utility - we really wanted for nothing. The swimming pool is smallish but very well laid out & properly fenced in. Amused ourselves for ages with the self operated pool vacuum! Plenty of sun & shade seating options. Bonuses were the pin ball machine, once we had mastered it's idiosynchrosies, and the fig tree once we had won the battle with the wasps. Boulangerie only a few minutes drive away & supermarkets 15 minutes max. You'll have a wonderful peaceful holiday at Le Moulin. It is deep in the country but we did seem to have an exceptional number of flies to deal with. Seemed to win the battle after 2 days & left a fly swat & other aids to help anyone following. Did not ultimately detract from a lovely holiday!
