Such a shame to have to come home ..........

                5 of 5
We have just returned from a wonderful week away and have to say this is one of the best if not the best self catering property we have stayed in. It is well laid out and well furnished and equipped so was very comfortable and enjoyed by us all. And like one of the previous reviewers we were also very appreciative of the fans as it was a very warm week - so the pool was also well used and tested and given a big thumbs up by the boys. The property is in a rural area and it was lovely sitting out in a evening with the solar lights prettily changing colours and looking up at the sky and seeing the stars so very clearly. The boys also enjoyed the DVD's selection (Star Wars) and there was also a good selection of books if you had forgotten to pack your own. What you do realise is how big France really is so we decided to combine trips out in the morning (such as to the Crytal Cave, St Christophers Rock, a paddle down the Dordogne River as well as the brilliant Crazy golf course) with an afternoon at the pool. The neighbours were friendly as was everyone we met and we tried speaking french which I think was well received if not necessarily correct! As always never enough time to see it all. The daily ritual of choosing fresh croissants and chocolatines as well as the baguette for lunch (not forgetting the lovely pastries too) was also easy with Villereal just down the road with easy access and parking. It was a shame to have to come back home but we would recommend this property for anyone looking for a great place to relax and also experience a little taste of French life. Thank you Roy and Angie for your hospitality, we all had a fabulous time. ..

Perfect for a relaxing family holiday

Quercy Cottage is a very spacious, cosy and clean gîte set in beautiful surroundings deep in the French countryside. It is clear that the cottage and gardens are well looked after and you can choose to spend your time basking in the beautiful sunshine around the lovely big pool, on the patio or exploring the grounds or, when you're feeling slightly more energetic, travel to any number of near-by medieval towns, chateaus, vineyards, markets (there is one to be found almost every day of the week) and restaurants. The great thing about this location is you have all of the sights and activities of the Dordogne less than an hour’s drive away but you can return back to the more peaceful Lot at the end of the day to unwind even more. The cottage was very homely and we were made to feel very welcome by Jennifer and David throughout our two week stay. Our children enjoyed the ponies and our youngest was even able to ride one as a treat on the last day. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will remember this holiday for a long time.

We had a great time here

We (6 adults and 2 children) stayed in the house for a week in early August and enjoyed everything about being here . It's quiet , comfortable and a great place for a relaxing holiday . The bedrooms are large and ensuite ,The kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to sit in and eat . There are 2 sitting rooms for reading or watching TV . There are also 2 outside dining tables and a covered area for relaxing . The pool is excellent quality and with space for several sun loungers . The house is surrounded by fields and is wonderfully quiet but you will need a car for visits to restaurants , supermarkets or other activities. The owners were excellent in helping us set up the holiday via owners direct and were on hand to help us settle in on arrival . A Allan , August 2016
