Just spent a week at Colette Marie's lovely apartment in Nice and I would highly recommend it. The apartment is tastefully furnished, very spacious, comfortable and very bright. My travelling companion slept in the main bedroom and I slept in the pull down bed in the living room. We both found the beds comfortable. The apartment has everything you would need to enjoy your stay - kitchen utensils, stove top cooker, fridge, well stocked cupboards, kettle etc.
The apartment is very well situated with many shops and restaurants in the nearby vicinity. There is a Carrefour City supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the apartment. If you turn to the left when you come out of the apartment and then head down to the right, you'll find it.
The train station is also only around an 8 minute walk from the apartment and it's easy to get down to the main shopping area with all the large department stores, Place Massena and the old town.
Colette Marie was very quick to respond by email to any questions I had, so was an excellent and friendly host.
If I return to Nice I would definitely request to stay at this apartment again. We had a fantastic holiday, so once again, I have to say thank you to Colette Marie for letting us stay at her lovely apartment.
Martin and Chloe made us most welcome. The apartment is well resourced and roomy for three people. We were glad to be on the edge of the old town so that we enjoyed peace at night.
Everything you need is a short walk away- so much to see and do. The beach is also very near.
We loved the art museums. One ticket gets you into most museums during a 24hr period.
Our favourite restaurant is just around the corner - Le Demode great food, simple and good quality local produce, cooked well.
We will miss hearing the church bells - the midday cannon always made sure we were wide awake!
We recommend walking up and around the chateau for spectacular views.
Catch the bus 100 from the port for sandy beaches - only a few minutes away.
Bus to and from the airport is easy - no 98 runs very frequently.
We gave up trying to use the Velo Bleu bikes - definitely more for locals - we found buses more useful.
Monoprix supermarket was our favourite- blissful air con and a great selection.
We loved the fruit and veg market every morning just by the beach.
