The Aquitaine area is an unimaginably striking historic province in south-western France and will become your home away from home. The hamlet of Villamblard is in point of fact situated in the gorgeous Dordogne area, Perigord Pourpre and is rather close to Bordeaux. In this extraordinary locale you will find utterly charming holiday apartments, gorgeous cabins and quiet villas all in the soothing settings of the Dordogne to transport you to the most supreme holiday possible in France.

Places to visit on holiday to the Villamblard

First you must imagine a very special holiday that iscompletely free of traffic noise and pollution. Next you may decide to go on an excursion of castle hunting, for there are a tremendous amount of castles in the area such as the Chateau de Biron, Chateau de Bonaguil, Chateau de Bourdeilles, Chateau de Commarque, Chateau de Gavaudun, Chateau de Puyguilhem, and also the Chateau de Puymartin. Many of these castles played a very important part in the Hundred Year’s War, and are built with large stones in order to be totally fortified against marauders.

As you drive around be sure and see the renowned viewpoint named Tremolat, as well as VezereValley, which is a World Heritage Site. There you can see two interesting museums: the Musee National de Prehistoire and the Musée de l'Abri Pataud, as well as Troglodyte villages and prehistoric cave systems. Villamblard is proud to say that it has its own Post office, bank, hairdressers, bars, grocers, bakers, and butchers as well as a weekly market.

A delightful gite in beautiful surroundings with welcoming and friendly hosts. Wonderful.

5 of 5
Situated in beautiful peaceful countryside, this is a delightful gite that has had a lot of thought and care put into the renovations. Dean and Debra seem to have thought of everything- even water toys and an inflatable croc for the pool! The gite, pool and hot-tub are spotlessly clean and along with the grounds, so very well maintained. Debra and Dean are very friendly and helpful and give the assurance of advice if needed whilst maintaining a discreet presence. We would be very happy to return again in the future and can wholeheartedly recommend this lovely place.

Fabulous Experience.

5 of 5
We had an amazing time during our stay at the property, the location is nice and private with plenty of local walks and stunning scenery within the immediate vicinity. The pictures really don't lie this really is an experience to be had and the property has all the features and amenities required for any holiday required, coupled with the log burning fire this was a lovely cosy gite which we would unreservedly recommend to any potential traveller. The owner Liz was on hand when we needed to provide us with any recommendations on local locations and towns and markets which we were very pleased and grateful to receive. Liz also kindly took her own time out to book us into a local restaurant for a meal on our night of arrival at our request and also picked up some provisions as we arrived on a Sunday afternoon when most shops were closed and we would also like to record our thanks to her for that and a very enjoyable stay. As we stated we would without hesitation unreservedly recommend this as a holiday stay and if we return to the area would certainly return again. Our first stay in France and we loved it..
