Make a holiday rental apartment or villa for self-catering accommodation holidays in Villamblard in France (18685)

The Aquitaine area is an unimaginably striking historic province in south-western France and will become your home away from home. The hamlet of Villamblard is in point of fact situated in the gorgeous Dordogne area, Perigord Pourpre and is rather close to Bordeaux. In this extraordinary locale you will find utterly charming holiday apartments, gorgeous cabins and quiet villas all in the soothing settings of the Dordogne to transport you to the most supreme holiday possible in France.

Places to visit on holiday to the Villamblard

First you must imagine a very special holiday that iscompletely free of traffic noise and pollution. Next you may decide to go on an excursion of castle hunting, for there are a tremendous amount of castles in the area such as the Chateau de Biron, Chateau de Bonaguil, Chateau de Bourdeilles, Chateau de Commarque, Chateau de Gavaudun, Chateau de Puyguilhem, and also the Chateau de Puymartin. Many of these castles played a very important part in the Hundred Year’s War, and are built with large stones in order to be totally fortified against marauders.

Do not miss a lovely village known as Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, a bastide town known as Beaumont-du-Perigord, Belves another village, an abbey village by the name of Cadouin,   an incredible cave system called Font-de-Gaume,   a medieval village named Issigeac, Les Eyzies a prehistoric centre, Riberac a lovely market town and Thiviers yet another market town. As you drive around be sure and see the renowned viewpoint named Tremolat, as well as VezereValley, which is a World Heritage Site. There you can see two interesting museums: the Musee National de Prehistoire and the Musée de l'Abri Pataud, as well as Troglodyte villages and prehistoric cave systems. Villamblard is proud to say that it has its own Post office, bank, hairdressers, bars, grocers, bakers, and butchers as well as a weekly market.

Delightful Rural Gite

5 of 5
The property was most attractive with very much a "french" feel, both comfortable and relaxing. We particularly enjoyed the delightful pool especially as the fortnight was very hot and sunny. It was peaceful and quiet. Jill, the owner was most accommodating in ensuring we had an excellent holiday by providing a welcome pack of food stuffs and ongoing contributions including eggs, and produce. Jill was always helpful with information when asked. The property is in a rural location and we enjoyed walks in the vicinity. We were able to explore the bastide towns (Eymet, Duras, Issigeac) , areas along the Dordogne river, and some of the wonderful chateux and wine producing properties in the area. We found some excellent restaurants and enjoyed the wonderful markets for top class fruit and foodstuffs. Bergerac itself we visited several times, enjoying exploring the old town, wine museum , river area and various cafes to stop and savour the atmosphere. All in all you could not ask for more.

Tranquil stay in a stunning location

Pierre has invested a lot time and effort into this property. It really is special. Your own pool, large property, lots of amenities that aren't listed. Would highly recommend to others.
