  • Delightfully located gîte with a superb garden
    5 of 5

This is a beautiful house in a hamlet about 25 km south of Avallon. The rolling countryside is gorgeous: views over the chateau at Vesigneux with the Lac du Crescent a few kilometres away. You'll be dependent on a car while you are here. The garden is spectacular - Brigitte has lavished care and attention on it; shrubs crowd together to make distinct rooms; the pond is huge and the garden becomes an orchard not far from the house. The house is exceptionally well equipped, the kitchen particularly so. Nearby is the fabulous abbey at Vezelay, Vauban's chateau at Bazoches, the attractive vill at Quarré les Tombes and the Morvan Parc centre at St Brissac; a little further afield the vills of Semur en Auxois and Noyers-sur-Serein, the UNESCO world heritage site at Fontenay, the remarkable experimental archaeology project at Geudelon and the fabulous cave paintings at Arcy sur Cure

  • A gem of a gite
    5 of 5

This is a lovely gite. It is in a small very quiet hamlet, in the beautiful (P.N.R.) Morvan but within walking distance of Dun-les-Place, for the shop & auberge. Lots of novel wooden design features and wonderful modern facilities (cooker, shower etc..). Mr. Laurant Richard gave a great explanation of the features in the gite and was very welcoming. Great position for exploring the local towns (especially Vezelay) and walking. Unfortunately we only stayed for two nights, in order to break the journey from the south of France but we will return for a longer holiday in the future.
