                              Beautiful, idyllic typically French cottage

                              5 of 5
A great little cottage, close enough to local amenities, but rural enough to get the true French experience. The house itself is stocked with everything you could ever need, including adaptors and hairdryer and was beautifully clean and tidy on arrival. We really appreciated the bottle of wine, milk and baguette after a very long drive! The pool was big enough and was cleaned regularly by Steve who was also very helpful to our inquisitive questions. There is ample shade around the pool which was much appreciated on very hot days. There were plenty of sun beds and seating for outside eating. The area is outstanding - very rural and quiet, full of Bastides, churches and gorges. We went canoeing down the Auveryne River starting off from St Antonin. It was 80 Euros for five of us and we were given plenty of time to paddle the 10km. A really great day out!! We fell in love with St.Antonin and its cobbled streets - it was very busy with tourists and I would suggest booking restaurants well in advance. We also loved Najac, Cordes Sur-Ciel, the castle at Penne and Bruniquel. We made the trip to Albi, which is about 50km from the house. The cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec Museum were great. There is a supermarche in St Antonin, ( Carrefour) that though small was very adequate. We also went to L'Eclerc in Villefranche which was great for a big shop at the beginning of the holiday. Mike and Caralyn were very organised with paperwork and even sent an email to say that a film had been made in the locality and we should watch it. They were also very prompt at replying to emails. All in all we had a fabulous holiday, the weather was on the whole very hot and sunny with a few welcome thunderstorms in between. We would definitely recommend this cottage and area to others.

Beautiful setting, ideal for our family & walking

                              5 of 5
We were looking for somewhere that would be welcoming for our extended family and Aux Volets Bleus ticked all the boxes. The setting and pool are lovely and the owner is very welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, well decorated and on hot evenings we sat at the big table outside for long dinners. We particularly appreciated the recommendations for local markets and walks that start from the Gite. On evenings when we did not want to cook, we popped over to the little restaurant and pizzeria, which took the pressure off us, when we wanted to relax. The village is a great spot, as it is quiet, off the tourist trail but also perfectly placed, being half-way between Cordes-sur-Ciel and St. Antonin-noble-Val. There are several vineyards that we visited, the owner gave us the names and we used them to form an afternoon's tour. A lovely spot, we hope to return in two years time - highly recommended!

                              Beautiful house in fabulous surroundings

                              5 of 5
We visited Cambou to celebrate my 70th birthday, all 19 of us,10 adults and 9 children from 10 years down to 5 months.Everyone had a fantastic time. The children loved the grounds and of course the pool as did the adults but we were able to escape the noise if necessary in the wonderful gardens and surrounding countryside. The house itself coped with everyone without us feeling cramped in any way. It was beautifully kept by "The Hoppies" who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The Gaillac wine festival was a great hit with some of us where we were able to buy and taste wines recommended by Paul and Fiona. As we left there were requests to return another year. Overall wonderful experience. Than you.
