Amazing piece of heaven in rural France

5 of 5
My family and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at Natures Retreat (1-8 April 2017). Where do I start?! The hosts: from point of booking, Clint and Jane have answered many questions from us. helping with the hire of fishing equipment and general advice. The welcome was amazing and Clint was always on hand, if needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Whilst we were there Clint offered advice to the fishermen, and took countless photo's (I'm sure he'll be glad of the rest now that we've left)! His advice was invaluable and it is clear to see that he is very respectful of the fish and has looked after them superbly. The whole area is maintained to such a high standard - it really is something to be proud of. The house... is utterly amazing. I wish I lived there! It has everything you could ever need. Large, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, linen, towels, kitchen stocked to the brim with every utensil and piece of cutlery you could ever wish for! And it was lovely and clean on our arrival. The pool area is a lovely bonus to the property. A bit too cold for us oldies in April, although our kids did have a quick dip! Can imagine it being wonderful in the height of Summer. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting by the lake in the sun all week, with the boys, while they fished. Now onto the fishing... the boys had a fantastic week, with their fish ranging from 24.5lbs to 46lbs and many, many more in between. They were absolutely chuffed to pieces - and will remember this holiday for the rest of their lives. Again, Clint's expertise and advice paid dividends! The week flew by and we were all very sad to be leaving such a wonderful place. We had an absolutely amazing time, and would not hesitate to recommend this little piece of heaven :-)

Quaint and rustic gite

4 of 5
We enjoyed out stay very much. Milk, butter and fresh scones awaited our arrival. We took up the offer of a breakfast tray to be delivered to us on the first morning as we hadn't had time to get to the shop and two trays loaded with a sumptuous breakfast and fab coffee arrived bang on time. As our stay was at the end of March, the evenings were a little cool outside but not inside when the very efficient log burning stove heated the entire gite - very cosy. You can lay in bed in the morning and look out over a lovely countryside view before getting up for a short walk to the village to the depot du pain. Thanks to Mandy and Ian
