On a hillside, on the edge of a quiet village - perfect peace! We had a lovely, relaxing holiday - the apartment is delightful, full of quirky charm & homespun touches, clean & spacious. You can lose yourself in the hills and discover pretty villages & beautiful scenery with the distant Pyrenees as a backdrop - bliss! Or you can be in Carcassonne, Beziers or the beach within an hour. Sylvie & Philippe were lovely & made us feel vey welcome. As we were there late in the year a number of restaurants were closed but we had a delicious meal at La Marbrerie in nearby Caunes Minervois. For a taste of tranquil, rural France at it's best you need to come here!

                                      GREAT HIDEAWAY !

                                      4 of 5
we have been to the area before, but wanted something smaller. The house is a little "Bijou", clean, nicely furnished with a great bathroom and kitchen and the most spectacular views from the second floor. As we enjoyed walking; by just crossing the bridge you are immediately in the Minervois countryside ! The village has most of the basic amenities and is quite interesting to walk around especially the church at the back of the house with its beautiful marble and stained glass windows !We would recommend the house to others Stella and Alessandro Petit Bijou nous sommes déjà venus dans la région, mais cette fois je voulais une maison de village !

An interesting property in a pretty town.

We enjoyed our stay in the house in Caunes. It was clean, well kitted out with everything and more than we needed. Multiple fans were useful in the hot weather and there were plenty of books, games, tvs wifi should the weather be poor. The house had a homely feel and and the quirky lay out on different levels added character. The kitchen was well supplied with crockery and cutlery and there were cooking facilities if needed. Upstairs and downstairs bathrooms were useful and added to the feeling of there being everything that you need. The outside space, whilst limited, provided eating space and relaxing space. It would be better for relaxing if the sun terrace had a better shade facility as the umbrella was broken and was not safe in the windy conditions. The only other problem was the lack of a parking space and it was first come first served on the busy road. Caunes is an interesting town with a variety of local shops, artisans and good local restaurants. A good place to wander round.
