Convenient, compact, charming host

5 of 5
Our long weekend in March was blessed with spring sunshine for the most part, which encouraged us to explore the compact city on foot. Top tips, ignore the expensive bus shuttle from the airport and buy a cheap travel pass for metro, tram and bus - just over 10 euros for three full days - then take tram to Arenes and red metro to Marengo, just a short walk from apartment. Also look out for free electric minibus which covers much of city centre, hop on and hop off as you please (not Sundays). Smooth arrival and departure at apartment, which is well-equipped but a kettle would be a bonus, excellent wifi but code is veeeeeery long, great shower, thin sliding screen between bedroom and sofa bed in lounge area might be awkward for two couples but fine for families. Marvellous markets, cafes and bars, loads to see and do and helpfulness of citizens remarkable - you only had to pull out a map to check bearings and people of all ages would e quickly offering to help. We've previously visited Montpellier and Bordeaux,Toulouse has lots of the former's bohemian charm while having bags of big city buzz, too.

A cosy, quiet home-from-home with fast access to city centre – and great hosts!

5 of 5
Bastien and Laura could not have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming. Their little guest house is cosy and well-equipped and feels very private with its own patio area. The Christmas touches they had added to the place (we stayed in December) were a lovely idea. The street is quiet but with access to major roads. There’s a metro station (just three stops from the centre of Toulouse) and food shops a 10-minute walk away plus a lovely big park with amazing views across the city very close by. Excellent place, highly recommended!

Beautiful, Calm, Private Villa with swimming pool, and perfect host!

5 of 5
The villa is in a quite neighborhood. It is easily accessible by bus and metro. Here is sufficient place both outside the gate and inside for parking a rented car though such is not essential. We did not have a car but walked or took the bus to the metro. The villa is beautiful, equipped with wifi. It has a ground floor which extends into the front and back gardens. There is a heated swimming pool strategically located to get the sun both in the morning and in the afternoon. One can eat either in the back garden close to the kitchen or in the front garden close to the swimming pool. And inside of course. There is one bedroom on the ground floor, a living and dining room with a fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen, Michel, the owner is a very generous host and allowed us to eat the fresh vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, celery, etc) from both his vegetable gardens (front and back), invited us to use anything from his well-stocked cellar (alcohol, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, pasta, tuna fish whatever). The second floor has two additional bedrooms and an additional bathroom. When we arrived he had bought local specialties and invited us for lunch, the gave us a champagne and wine as presents. He brought us and took us to the airport in his private car. He was the best host we ever had, friendly, informative and discreet. I certainly recommend this villa in Toulouse. And I recommend Michel who has this and other villas to rent. He is a building contractor so his villas are in good repair -- at least the one we rented was. He is the perfect host! The villa is quite, the garden private and the heated swimming pool superb!
