A perfect getaway - sea, views and tranquility

5 of 5
The house is perfectly situated, at the very top of Tizzano, looking down on the beautiful beach and across the bay. Very peaceful, as barely any passing traffic. The vast living/kitchen/dining room has beautiful views through every window. The house was spotlessly clean, and every bedroom looked fresh and welcoming. It is simply furnished, but provides everything you would need. The drive is very steep, and parking and driving up it was a bit intimidating at first, but you get used to it. Being at the very top of the hill, it's a steep walk down to the beach, but easily managed in 10 minutes, and quicker for fitter people! We managed with 3 ladies aged over 90! Tizzano itself provides everything you could need - a few excellent restaurants right on the beach, a couple of shops for all the basics, and a perfect, huge beach, with the whitest sand, and bluest sea. Being up high, it is quite exposed, so when it is windy, it is difficult to find a sheltered spot - but that's when the large amount of space inside, and the huge french windows are a particular asset. If it is very windy there are plenty of other more sheltered beaches to explore - we recommend Campomoro. Dealing with Francesca, and arranging the booking was so easy - she was so helpful, and accommodating. Paulina, the lovely lady who cleans the house, and welcomes you could not have been kinder or more helpful. All in all this was a hugely successful holiday, in a lovely house, in a perfect position.

Highly recommended

My husband and I stayed for a week in this lovely apartment, and would gladly recommend it to others. The apartment was very clean, well decorated, and had plenty of space. The two bedrooms, which were at the back of the building, were quiet. The kitchen/diner had a balcony overlooking the lively main street and harbour area; we spent many a happy hour ‘people watching’ while we enjoyed our evening meals alfresco. There were plenty of local shops and restaurants, so you could manage here without a car but we chose to hire one. There was a parking space for us at the back of the building, with a short walk (100 metres?) around to the front door entrance. We found several lovely local beaches and enjoyed trips out into the hills, and down to the south coast too. It is quite a good location for exploring the mid and southern parts of the island, but be aware that the roads tend to be slow; there are no dual-carriageways. We couldn't have asked for nicer ‘hosts’; Santa was fantastic, as were the very friendly English-speaking staff in the associated restaurant. Although Santa’s English and my French could both be better, we communicated very easily when we arrived and departed. Written communications during the booking process were made earlier with the help of Google Translate. Santa lives in the same building (on a higher floor), so if you had any difficulties she would be nearby to help you. Basic provisions were available for us: oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets etc. And, on arrival, Santa also gave us a little gift of tasty treats, which were very welcome especially after a long journey. All in all, highly recommended. Santa, Thank you very much for our stay and for looking after us so well. We hope to visit you again some time in the future. Kind regards, Julia & Steve
