  • A very enjoyable couple of nights

My wife and I spent 2 very enjoyable nights here. The accommodation was of a good standard and the bathroom and shower were very well appointed. The highlight was the 2 evening meals that we ate in the large charming dining room, which appears to be in an old cellar. Although the French couples we ate with didn't speak much English, it was fun to try to converse with them, and the food was delicious. We also visited the Millau Viaduct and the Roquefort cheese caves, which wer both very interesting. Would recommend if you're in the Millau area.

We had a great time at the Schoolhouse in Blanc. David and Carlos were fantastic hosts and provided us with helpful local information and advice and some local produce which was much appreciated . The cottage was in a fabulous woodland setting off the beaten track, a great place to get away from it all with some fabulous walks right from the doorstep. We enjoyed seeing the local wildlife such as wild boar, deer, eagles and other animals in their natural habitat. Blanc proved to be a good base for exploring the wider area whether you are interested in wine and food, exploring local history or doing something more adventurous with places like Albi, Lac du Laouzas, Lacaune, Castres, Millau and the Tarn Gorges all within a reasonable distance in the car. We thought we might miss UK TV and broadband but our hosts had an extensive DVD library which we were able to put to good use in the late evenings, relaxing with a glass or two of fine wine in front of a nice log burning fire. Overall we had a great time - thanks David and Carlos for helping to make our holiday such a good one.
