Wonderful Family Fun!!!

5 of 5
I took my children and grandchilden to this wonderful spot in this French forest. It was in a great location for things to do and places to go but still having the privacy of our own company within the grounds and around the pool. The owner was very friendly and helpful and although she was there when needed, remained un intrusive respecting our family holiday. She arranged suitable times with us to clean the pool and anything we needed was at hand. Had such a great time cant wait to go back!

What wonderful to place to stay!

5 of 5
We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in the Canal House. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the house itself and the situation is lovely -all better than we could have hoped. That and the fact you personally could not have been more welcoming, thoughtful and helpful during our stay. While the November weather could have been a bit better it didn't stop us making full use of the facilities both indoors and outside. Also the timely addition of central heating meant the house was cosy and welcoming throughout. A perfect venue for a family celebration. Many thanks from all of us."

Beautiful and extremely spacious house in fantastic location

4 of 5
We had a fantastic week at this house. The outside space is lovely - great views of Bazas and the country-side, a safely fenced pool and lovely tree to sit under in the shade. The swings could do with a bit of repair but the children had great fun on them. Great large sitting area outside the house perfect for evening meals together. Lots of indoors space including a comfy living room, a games room and a dining area. The kitchen is good but could be better equipped (no decent sharp knives or large drinking glasses!). The beds are comfortable and there is a good sized family bathroom near five of the bedrooms (4 upstairs, 2 doubles, a twin and a quad with 4 bunks; another double downstairs). The other shower room is a bit further away. Then there is a shower and sink in the remaining double room which is just beyond the front door and has its own door and key opening on to the front porch - this room could do with a bit of updating and its own toilet (as otherwise you have to go outside and let yourself back into the main house if you need the toilet in the night) but the other rooms are lovely. The town of Bazas is very charming and we had some great meals around the central square. There is lots of parking and the property is very private and peaceful, and was very clean when we arrived. Isobel, who maintains the house, was very friendly and helpful but doesn't really speak any English. I would highly recommend this house for family groups or groups of friends with children. Thank you for a wonderful week.
