Rural French paradise!

5 of 5
Our stay was perfect from start to finish. If you are looking for a secluded break away from it all then this is the place to stay! The gite was perfect for two people and was very clean on arrival, the pool and outside area were fantastic! We couldn't believe how lucky we were when we arrived and Steve the owner was always very quick to reply and make sure our stay was going to be perfect. Although the gite is rural, their are so many lovely villages not too far away to visit and explore! There is a great all you can eat and drink restaurant in Bardenac - highly recommended if you want rustic, French and friendly service! It was also an hours drive to the centre of Bordeaux if you did want to get out and explore th city a little bit more! It was so peaceful and we never got disturbed once - although sometimes a little gheko would welcome us on the patio area when we woke up in the morning and opened the doors to sit outside for breakfast and a morning cup of tea!! Thank you again for such an amazing stay and we really hope we could return again in the future! Lizzie & Matt.

Exceptional stylish cottage perfect for families

5 of 5
This cottage is truly an exceptional find. We felt like we were the first guests to stay there as everything was so spotless and perfect. The internal decor is beautiful and chic. Nathalie has thought of everything to make this gite as accommodating and welcoming as possible. We’ve been staying in gites for years but this was equipped above and beyond anywhere else we have ever stayed. We have two children under 4 years old and on top of the usual supplied kiddie paraphernalia like cots and highchairs we were also loaned a nightlight, a playpen, kids cups and bowls... which made our lives easier! There were also many wonderful toys, books and DVDs. The grounds are stunning and there is so much to entertain kids (and adults!) of all ages. The pool is beautiful and immaculate, with plenty of goggles and inflatable toys available to use. The kids especially loved the climbing frame, the sandpit and the little cottage. The hammock is incredibly relaxing and a lovely touch. The location is very peaceful, rural and beautiful, nestled amongst vineyards and fields of sunflowers. There is quite a lot to see and do within about an hour’s drive: we went to Cognac, St Emilion, Villebois-Lavalette, Angouleme, Saintes, Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Le Chateau des Enigmes and a monkey park to name but a few. Finally, Nathalie and her lovely family are incredibly hospitable and friendly and make absolutely perfect neighbours. Our 3yo daughter especially misses Clovis, Scarlett and Curly terribly. We would all love to come back one day. Our advice to anyone reading this would be to book this gite immediately, you won’t regret it!
