Fabulous house and pool situated in a lovely village just north of Montpelier. Easy reach into Montpelier by tram and kayaking close by!
House and pool were amazing and very well equipped with lovely views. The owners are lovely and we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back to stay again!
Karen and David are very friendly and welcoming, and always available to help if you have any questions.
The big selling point of this villa is its fantastic outdoor living space where we spent almost all our time. The outdoor kitchen is extremely well equipped with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, a great barbecue and a large dining table with 8 chairs, and even a separate toilet. The beautiful pool is 10m x 4m and is in the sun all day until about 6-7pm - it's not heated, but while we were there in August it didn't need it, as the water temperature was always very pleasant. The shallow end is about 80cm and the deep end (starts about halfway down the pool) is about 2m. The pool and outdoor kitchen are also very private - you're not overlooked by any neighbours and it can't be seen from the road.
Inside, there's a large open plan living/dining space with an adjoining kitchen. There's a corridor leading to 2 double bedrooms (the smaller bedroom has an en-suite with sink/shower/toilet) and a separate bathroom and separate toilet. Upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms - one larger room with a double bed, and one smaller room with 2 single beds (most suitable for kids). These bedrooms also share a bathroom with shower/sink/toilet. The only air conditioning in the house is a mobile unit, but this can be moved around to where you need it most - probably into a bedroom at night if it's very hot weather - but you do need to stick a hose out of a door or window.
The villa is well located - it's on a quiet residential road but only a short walk from the local modern boulangerie, and about 1 minute's drive to a large Intermarche which was very handy. There's also a sushi restaurant in very easy walking distance, although we didn't try that. Further afield, it's a 5-10 minute drive to the Occitanie tramstop, where you can park and take the tram into Montpellier. About 20-30 minutes drive away we went caneoing on the Herault river, and found an amazing cave (grotte des Demoiselles).
Thanks to Karen and David for being so hospitable, and for renting out their home to us for 2 weeks - we had a great time.
