  • A beautifully situated property on top of a hill, convenient for local amenities

We, and the dog, were warmly welcomed by Nathalie, the owner. ~Although she speaks little English (and we speak little French) we managed to understand her. Luckily, her nephew, Hector, is very fluent, so was a great help. The boulangerie and the local beach is very convenient - just a five minute down the hill (the walk back up is very good for the leg muscles and improving lung capacity!) The locals were extremely friendly. We ate at the brassierie adjoining the Adele's boulangerie (informal eating) and twice at "L'Aquilon" . Both the set and a la carte menus were excellent at L"Aquilon". We would also recommend Auberge de Relais - just a couple of miles up the road, where we also ate twice. Didn't try the little wine bar/bistro in Varengeville, but it looked lovely. Some amazing beaches when the tide went out - not too crowded due to them being accessed via lots of steps or ramps. Our Springer spaniel was never happier than when on the beach - loves to paddle! Highly recommended area - especially if, like me, you had a relative who was imprisoned in Dieppe for the duration of the war - but plenty of other places to explore, and Dieppe is a lovely town, especially on market day!

Beautiful cottage in idyllic setting. Very comfortable and all amenities provided. Ideal hide away for a few days. Will certainly recommend especially as owner takes bookings for short stays. Living close to Newhaven it is an ideal bolt hole for a few days rest and to "get away from it all". Lovely coast, 'low key' villages. Brilliant
