Things to do in St-Andre-de-Roquepertuis, France

The Ceze Valley and Guarrigues region is one of the best in France for cycling and walking holidays. There are almost countless routes for walking and cycling, taking you through forests, up mountains and through deep, dramatic gorges. The many beautiful, forgotten stone villages along the way provide idyllic spots for lunch, where you can recuperate with a plate of authentic local cuisine and a glass of local wine, most notable of which are the Cotes du Rhone reds.

The river Ceze is a great source of entertainment for anyone staying in a St-Andre-de-Roquepertuis villa too. The fishing is excellent, with fishing permits available from most local tabacs, and during the summer, the fresh, clean water is perfect for a refreshing swim. Canoeing and rafting trips also provide a fantastic afternoon.

Bagnols is host to the regions best Saturday market too. The market is huge and vibrant, offing all of the area's finest arts, crafts and most importantly, foods.

Beautiful house in a lovely area

5 of 5
The house is very well presented and is nice and cool when it' very hot outside. The village is very quaint, and the location of La Mazet on the outside edge means that is is quite private. Could benefit from the trees being trimmed to take full advantage of the view of the vineyards from the rear patio, but that is a minor point. Goudargues is a short distance away can be walked to and has some good eating places and cafes.

Absolutely great

5 of 5
Maison Broche is a fantastic place to spend a holiday. Simon and his parents made us feel truly at home. They are first class hosts with an excellent knowledge of the area. They were always willing to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Their holiday homes are excellently maintained and extremely comfortably. Access to a pool on those hot days was great. Also Simon seems constantly to be in the process of upgrading his business. One gets the sense that this place is only going to get better in the years to come. The locale is beautiful and amazingly well serviced with amenities. I recommend dropping by the cascades for a light swim or some great diving, depending on your preference.
