Our stay was heavenly. This property is of an exceptionally high standard and in the most beautiful location with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Everything you could possibly want for is there - a true 'home from home'. The listing is extremely accurate and the photographs do not actually do it justice enough - it is a truly beautiful house in truly beautiful surroundings. It was immaculately clean and immaculately well- maintained. We were met by the owners local 'agent' who was very pleasant and most helpful. If I could own a property myself in France - this would be it - perfect in every possible way. Unfortunately the weather was not too kind to us on our stay but we could not have been cosier - the log burners in the property are so fantastically effecient and there was more than plentiful log supply. How I would also love a Christmas there ! We do hope to return one day. The owners have been incredibly helpful and easy to deal with - communication was second to none throughout. I cannot recommend this property highly enough .

                                                            Wonderful

                                                            5 of 5
Perfect from start to finish. The directions provided were clear and easy to follow and the caretaker met us there and was very welcoming (good bottle of red waiting for us!). Situated in a beautiful area we were serenaded by the Golden Orioles lilting, flute like call all week and enjoyed watching the Redstarts darting in and out under the barn doors to their nest. The house is a fantastic place to have as a base to explore the region. It's location means it's easy to visit all the near by attractions while having somewhere more tranquil to return to and take a step back from all the busy tourist areas and just relax and take in the big skies. There are also lots of well marked walking trails very near by the property meaning you can walk straight out the front door and off on an adventure without having to get in the car! The house is finished to a very high standard, beautiful throughout with lots of lovely finishes. The windows, in particular the main bedroom and kitchen, are spectacular! The local shop (5 minutes by car) was well socked and there are a couple of good restaurants near by too but with the view from the house we rarely wanted to eat out. Will definitely keep this place in mind if we return to that part of France again.

Wonderful stay - beautiful cottage, stunning location and incredible hosts

                                                            5 of 5
We had a wonderful week-long stay at Shirley and Andy's beautiful annexed cottage in Coux et Bigaroque. The cottage itself was perfect for our needs - spotless, recently renovated and well equipped, and very spacious with a downstairs kitchen and dining area, and a bathroom, large bedroom and large living room upstairs. As much as we enjoyed heading out exploring the area, we equally loved staying at home enjoying the cottage and garden (which is massive, and has wonderful shady fruit trees, and a pool). The cottage is perfectly located for exploring nearby attractions - Jardins de Marqueyssac, Domme, Monpazier, Chateau de Castelnaud etc were all within a short drive, and the village of Coux et Bigaroque itself is quaint - it has no supermarket (which wasn't a problem as there was one at the neighbouring village), but has a lovely restaurant / hotel and a boulangerie (of course!). Shirley and Andy were the perfect hosts - exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, but never intrusive. They gave us great tips about villages to explore and sights to visit, and were always looking for ways to make our stay more comfortable.
