We were 2 families with young children and a couple and this house suited us perfectly.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Veronique who showed us around and explained how everything worked.
We were provided with a lovely welcome hamper of local cake, beer, jams and lemonade and Veronique told us we were free to help ourselves to coffee, seasonings etc in the cupboards and any cleaning and laundry products we needed.
The house is much bigger than it looks in the pictures and was spotlessly clean.
My husband and I had a bedroom upstairs with a small adjoining childrens twin room which was perfect for our toddler and 3 year old. Our room also had a walk in shower and basin behind the bed.
There is a vast array of childrens toys, including inflatables and swimming aids for the pool, French board games, puzzles and books as well as plenty for the garden.
They even supplied a range of bikes in different sizes with safety helmets!
The ping-pong and foosball tables went down well with adults and children alike!
Our only slight disappointment was that the pool wasn't warm enough for most of us to use. It was October though and Daniel and Veronique even came to the house to increase the temperature but unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough for bobbing around in at this time of year.
The kitchen is very high spec with top end appliances and good quality crockery and glasses. They even have a vacuum cleaner built into the walls!
The owners went out of their way to provide everything we could need for the babies and still asked us if there was anything else we needed. They are a really lovely couple.
The only thing we actually needed to take were pool towels.
As has been mentioned previously, the thing that stands out most about this house is the stunning views.
Every window and door you look out of has beautiful views of the mountains or the valley and early in the morning when the sun is rising and the fog is lifting they are quite breath-taking!
We didn't venture far while staying here as there is so much to keep you occupied. The 2 local towns are very old and pretty - quite quirky so worth a walk around. The local supermarket provides a good selection of food, drinks and the usual household goods. There is nothing open past 7pm though so make sure you take some food and drinks with you if you're arriving late.
We loved our stay here and hope we are lucky enough to go back soon.
It was our golden wedding and decided that we would like to spend it with all our family, We decided on France so started looking. This was the one that seemed to tick the boxes. We planned everything in good time so as not to get disappointed. My husband fishes so the river was good. My daughters family are very active and loved the canoes using them quite a lot. The games were great all taking an active part in the Boules, table tennis and cycling. The village was a really super choice for Dave and I, as it was very quiet and peaceful. it had a lovely hotel with a bar we all used to visit most days just for few drinks and chat with the locals. They did not speak English very well but we managed. Jean-michel and his son helped my son to arrange the most wonderful meal for the evening of our anniversary. We went to "Le Lion d'or" which was an hotel in the next village where we went to the supermarket to buy our supplies. The time we were there was perfect and the weather was lovely. The one thing we thought the villa was lacking was toilets. There were only 2 for 8/10 people which we found was inadequate really other than that it had everything one needed. We would definitely recommend it .
