Make a holiday rental in Saubion, France your home away from home

Saubion is a commune in Aquitaine’s Lande department, sitting next to the Atlantic, in one of the country’s best-loved beach holiday destinations. Saubion self-catering holiday rentals are minutes from a lovely sandy beach, popular with surfers.

Things to do in Saubion, France

The coast is the main attraction in the area around Saubion holiday accommodation. At Hossegor, no more than few minutes in the car, you’ll find what is considered to be France’s surfing capital. The beach gets almost perfect waves thanks to the unique shape of the seabed just off the coast, creating high surf and regular tubes. If you’re a newcomer to the sport then you’ll be able to get lessons from the local surfing schools to help you find you feet. Such is the high profile of Hossegor that there’s an annual surfing competition held here every year in late-August.

If the waves at Hossegor beach are a little too rough for younger visitors then the Hossegor Lake is found inland, a little closer to Saubion self-catering holiday homes. With its own beaches it’s an ideal place for younger visitors to swim and paddle. Older visitors to the area will be able to enjoy two excellent golf courses – Blue Green Seignosse and Golf d’Hossegor – while there are also stables in the area for horseback riding and all kinds of facilities for sports like tennis.

Also just minutes from Saubion holiday rentals is the town of Capbreton, home to a picturesque harbour and considered an excellent destination for seafood, with a host of fantastic eateries serving locally caught fruits de mer. There are also beautiful beaches here, as well as world-class surfing conditions.

Places to visit on holiday in Saubion, France

Saubion self-catering holiday accommodation is around thirty minutes from the city of Bayonne, which features a lovely historic district. Here you’ll find the Sainte Marie cathedral, which dates to the 1200s. Biarritz is just a little further on, and also boasts some lovely old architecture, as well as the Museum of the Sea, which is home to a number of live aquariums.

Weather in Saubion, France

Saubion holiday accommodation is set in a part of France with a very clement climate, bringing long, warm and dry summers that last for as many as five months. Winters here are very mild, and temperatures never drop far below the teens at this time of year.

Cheap flights to Saubion, France

The best way to reach Saubion holiday rentals would be to fly from London-Gatwick (LGW) to Biarritz-Anglet-Bauonne Airport (BIQ), which sits no more than half an hour from your holiday destination about 35 kilometres up the coast.

Beautifully appointed character apartment.

5 of 5
Right in the hustle and bustle of the pedestrianised Rue du Port Vieux with its bars, restaurants and boutique shops, this comfortable, spacious high ceilinged traditional apartment has been refurbished to a high standard in a minimalist style. Two minutes walk from the Port Vieux Beach and within ten minutes of le Grande Plage, Biarritz centre and the fabulous Les Halles market and surrounding cafes and restaurants, its perfectly placed for a variety of activities. Plenty of local activity means that its not for those who want to snooze on their own balcony but we thought it was great and our posse of mid-teen girls absolutely loved it!

Nice and relaxing. Beautiful villa. Lovely area.

Beautiful villa, spacious and well equipped, lovely area. Nice and relaxing. Booking was straight-forward and communication with owners prompt and clear. Greeted by a nice lady, Sandra, who helped us find our bearings. We were looking for quality accommodation for a quiet and pleasant break - exactly what we got here. To explore more we suggest hiring a bike or car. As well as enjoying the villa, pool, hot tub, and beach it's a great area for many activities such as walking, running, cycling, fishing, surfing. The recommended taxi firm from Hossegor made for a good airport transfer. The free bus service made it easy to get to Hossegor. Handy to have some places to eat and mini-mart nearby as the supermarché is a bit of a walk or bus ride. Beach lovely for surfers. Lovely patisseries.
