A well equiped property in a very peaceful location

5 of 5
The owners Marie and Giles were very welcoming on our arrival and wonderful people who were very helpful during our two week stay. The property is in large grounds which are well fenced and we were able to let our Cairn Terrier wander freely. There is access to the forest from the rear of the garden. The road leading to the property is single track and very quiet, as it is a no through road. All the rooms are spacious and the Bathroom has 2 wash basins and a large enclosed shower room. There is a separate toilet next door. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a large covered patio which has a table tennis table and a dart board (with darts provided), Footballs, boule and other games are also available. We found this a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay. There are a number of lakes within the area and the Atlantic coast isn't far away. The town of Ychoux is only a few minutes away and there you will find a few restaurants/eateries along with a small supermarket, bakery, etc. We visited in the last two weeks of June and the roads were quiet and the lake and coastal towns were quite quiet. However, it was obvious that these places would be much busier in the traditional French holiday period that starts early in July and goes on to the end of August. To sum up, we really liked the Landes area, found the property excellent for our needs and our hosts, who lived in the detached property next door, were wonderful.
