  • Delightful house in beautiful private grounds

The house and grounds were exactly as per the photographs. Contact with the owners was easy, particularly as I like to speak and write French although Helany also has good English. The house is well equipped with everything you need,. The local village is attractive and has all you need except fuel which is not always easy to find! The local creperie,La Vague, is excellent and reasonable but not always open in the evening. The fish restaurant in Dourduff has a reasonable menu and is a good and pleasant place to go,particularly if the tide is in! Other restaurants are further away so may be a problem if you like your wine. We quite often ate at lunchtime whilst out and had a snack and bottle of wine when we returned in the evening. We were the last guests of the year so it was dark earlier. The local scenery is rural and pleasant with little traffic. Not so Morlaix which we did not like too much. We did like Carantac which is only about 30 minutes and lunched there,at the beach, several times. There are 2-3 beach restaurants. St Malo to the property is about 2 hours via the motorway. We enjoyed a really good and restful holiday
